Quoted: Steve Zahn as Al Giordino in Sahara is nothing like the way he is written-- and I love what he did with the part, so we're good. Hi, howareya? View Quote I saw the Sahara movie before I ever read any of the books. He was a great sidekick in that movie. But not true to the literary character at all. |

Quoted: Viggo Mortensen as Aragorn. God dam that guy epitomizes Beta male! What a faggot. View Quote I disagree. The book character was forced to be a warrior by circumstance and his lineage. His first calling was that of a healer. That was only touched on in the films. An MD will run a sword through you if cornered. (I've personally known a few) In book, The Return of The King, he saved the lives of Eowyn and her hobbit pard after she slew the king wraith and his flying steed. The dragons the wraiths rode could not only eat you, but just breathing the foul vapors they exuded was fatal. (Guessing Tolkien's polite way of saying dragon farts were truly killers) Both woman and hobbit were banged up, but the poison fume was what was killing them. Dr Aragorn saved them after the big battle. I think Viggo dude did the part right. I can't see The Rock or Jason Mamoa playing Aragorn. |

That's a tough call. Baldwin was good as the young, up-and-coming marine turned Wall Street whiz kid turned analyst. Ford was perfect as the haggard, aging bureaucrat thrust into positions he really didn't want to occupy. In other words, I believed Baldwin as the guy who would jump into the ocean to get on that boat, and I believed Ford as the "oh fuck, I'm the deputy director now?" guy. That’s a great point. I never thought of it that way. Yeah Ford really put the "everyman" believability in the films. He got his ass kicked in Patriot Games after putting up a decent fight for his life only to be saved by the gate guards. The ambush in Clear and Present Danger felt similar : they were dead unless they tried to get out. |

Quoted: Agreed, save for two films, Raising Arizona (best part he ever played) and Leaving Las Vegas (he was a natural with the alcohol problem, plus he dies and Elizabeth Shoe was so smoking hot) I'll help this thread with a pic of his lovely costar. https://pics.filmaffinity.com/Leaving_Las_Vegas-673671206-large.jpg A bonus edit for more help: https://i.pinimg.com/originals/66/7c/c0/667cc0019fccd5469aa7467770201720.jpg View Quote Um, Wild at Heart |

I'm probably going to get shit for this, but I hated Bradley Cooper in "American Sniper."
He was popular at the time of the movie, and somewhat looks like Kile, but I just despise him. |

Nicolas Cage killed in the movie "The Weatherman". I love that movie. I love Nic Cage. I apologize for nothing.

I must have watched that movie 100 times in the 80's. My cousin went to high school with him and said he wasn't acting at all in the movie. That's how he was all throughout HS. |

View Quote Quoted: Idris Elba in the Dark Tower. View Quote My vote for terrible miscasting is another King series. Casting Parker Lewis Can't Lose as Harold Lauder was a joke. Absolutely terrible. Worse than casting Molly Ringwald as Fran. Sinise was good. Tom Cullen was the role Dobber was born to play. Ossie Davis as the judge was perfect. Laura San Giancomo was okay, but not great. Miguel Ferrer was Lloyd was spot on. |

View Quote This has to be the winner. John Wayne as Genghis Khan was hilariously bad casting. I first saw it after working a night shift, and laughed so hard I woke my wife up at 0300. So bad it's funny kind of thing. I don't remember who did the casting, but they should have been fired immediately. |

Quoted: Why? Because he didn’t match the description in the book? Let me let you in on something that is not a secret. 97% of the people that saw the movie probably didn’t even know there was a book. Cruise did a good job in the movie, and it did pretty well at the box office. It would have probably made less money if they would have found somebody that matched the description from the book. Quoted: Steve Zahn as Al Giordino in Sahara is nothing like the way he is written-- and I love what he did with the part, so we're good. Hi, howareya? View Quote I thought he did a pretty good job as Al, and overall I thought Sahara was pretty damn good. However, Richard Jordan as Dirk Pitt in Raise the Titanic was simply awful. He was so far removed from Dirk that it was just awful. But to get right down to it that movie sucked balls. It was my favorite book as a kid, I probably read it 50 times. The movie was just sad. @Ductapeman |
