In an interview with Entertainment Weekly in 2017, Scott talked about his original ending idea that was never filmed. He felt that the idea of the Nostromo blowing up and Ripley getting on the shuttle was a flat ending. Instead, when Ripley discovered the alien onboard and hit the buttons to open the airlock, what played out next would have altered movie history. With the alien hanging onto the door, Scott said, "She harpoons it, it makes no difference. It comes forward and it slams through her mask and rips her head off." Then Scott would have cut to the alien's hand going to the controls, and mimicking Tom Skerritt's voice perfectly, it would say, "I'm signing off." That ending would have been dumb as shit. |

Wikipedia informs me of the following blasphemy:
Alien (1979) Aliens (1987) Alien 3 (1992) Alien Resurrection (1997) Alien vs. Predator (2004) Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem (2007) Prometheus (2012) Alien: Covenant (2017) "Alien 9" (2024) |

I remember walking with a buddy from his house to the community college to see Alien playing at a matinee. We must have been 14 or 15 since we didn't drive. It was a pretty long walk.
Back then alien seemed cool and frightening. |

I saw Aliens in the theater with a high school friend of mine by the name of Mike in 1986. 4 years later and after graduation from UC Berserkly, PLC, TBS, and IOC, Mike was a Platoon Commander with Wpns Co 2/3 in ODS.
He was nothing like 2nd Lt. Gorman though. |

Alien and Aliens aren't the same kind of movies.
That said, Aliens is better I think. |

I like the first one. I'm not a fan of the action of Aliens. I'm a horror fan and I enjoyed the survival-horror feel of Alien 1. A single alien more or less wipes out the ship, and it seems unstoppable, and throughout the entire movie you're wondering if the crew will find a way to kill it. (Then the twist with Ash being an android, the company being corrupt assholes, etc.)
Aliens is still a good movie, I just with the franchise stuck with the horror elements from 1. I feel the same way with Terminator 2. Good action movie, but I thought the T-800 was cooler as a villain. |

Alien. Period.
The first time I camped with my new neighborhood friends in 1980, the oldest kid told me the story of Alien, which I hadn't heard of before. I went home that night like a little bitch. |

The one where the director complained about having to pay someone, and how long that took, to airbrush out her bush from all the frames because she refused to pull up her panties or shave.

Aliens, in the pipe 5 by 5......
We need more Colonial Marines movies on bug hunts. |

Quoted: To me it’s Aliens. It has humor, action, excellent special effects (from before computers), and a great plot. “They mostly come out at night…mostly.” - Newt View Quote Aliens was best. Even adding the Prometheus series to the whole series, which they are part of, still makes Aliens the best one. |

Just an attempt to cash on the critter. However, the Covenant ones are (supposed to be part of it), even though a bit clumsy. |

Aliens was awesome- one of the best sequels of all time.
Then comes Alien, the one that started it all. Prometheus Alien 3 was a vibe. Alien: Retardation should never have been made. |
|
How is this even a question?
Mostly Nuke it from orbit Game over, man, game over Hudson In the pipe, 5x5. |
|
There's only two movies in that series, what are you talking about? Alien and Aliens.
|
|
You had zero idea what to expect in the first one. So when you first saw the alien it was pretty thrilling. The second one you already knew the enemy pretty well and it didn’t have the surprise value as the first. This is also why the rest were good but kinda meh.

Of course it's Aliens. The answer is obvious and anyone putting something else is trying to be edgy.

What is this "quadrilogy" you speak of? There were only two Alien movies: Alien and Aliens.
Aliens is the best movie ever. |

Quoted: Alien if you like horror Aliens if you like action Alien is best IMO. Best atmosphere. Best cast. Best scares. No screaming girl. View Quote Yeah this. It's slower of course, but it's perfect. I also love Aliens, it's eternally quotable but there's something special about Alien. 3 fucking sucks. All this shit to save the girl then "oops she dead lol" and every single character in it is awful and unlikable. |

Yeah I got a question, how do I get out of this chickenshit outfit?
ETA- also it took me until like 2 years ago to figure out Vasquez is John Connor's foster mom. |

"Why do they call you 85?"
Alien3 had some good scenes. Alien 3 (2/5) Movie CLIP - It's Here! (1992) HD But I agree with ya'all. 3 and 4 could have been skipped or made into a different universe and been better movies as a result. They sorta taint the first two. |
|
Well, Alien was a thriller, Aliens was an action movie. The rest were garbage.
I say original. |

Not a fair comparison between ALIEN a SIFI horror movie to ALIENS a SIFI action movie.

Prometheus
Alien covenant Aliens Alien vs predator 2 Top 4 in order. |

View Quote I've enjoyed that guy in 95% of the roles he's played, but his rock bottom worst part was that Marine in A2. He was supposed to be an elite Marine commando, but was a whiney chickenshit in A2. That being said, RIP Bill Paxton. You were one of my favorites. |
