First car I bought, first "real" car I considered mine, or first car I had?

First car I "had" was an 83 Aires K station wagon in Gold...with a cracked block. Barely lasted a summer.

First car I considered "mine" was a 1992 Jeep Wrangler Islander in a one-off blue which I loved....and never should have sold.

First car I bought was a 1998 Dodge Intrepid ES.

Inbetween all those was a mid-80s Chevy Citation wagon (drove it on loan for a couple summers) and a 1991/1992? Plymouth Duster...which was ok, but felt like I was driving someone's origami project. Ditched that and got the Jeep.

87 Camaro Z28.  With the biggest turd V8 in history under the hood  165hp and 3300lbs makes for one slow ass "muscle car."  The 2.73 open rear sure didn't help either..lol

Cool first car though.  I liked it and it wasn't "performance" enough for me to kill myself in it.  Even after an engine swap my junior year added about 100hp to the car it still wasn't more than I could handle at 17 years old.

No pic.

1983 Toyota Celica ST, wine red metalic (maroon) with a camel (tan) interior.   It had 4 miles on it when I left the lot.

At 16 I had a 1950 Plymouth 3 speed on the column. It was 8 years old the floor pan and door sills were rusted out had a friend weld in new sills used 2x4's to hold up the seats. CT road salt ate it up.

No pictures, but it was a 1970 Chevy Nova, in line 6. I bought it off my worthless Dad for $750 in 1985. The speedometer was broken, but I know it had at least 100,000 miles on it when I bought it! No power steering, windows, brakes. No A/C, which sucks in N. Texas! It also had a 3 speed manual on the floor......

Started with the family car, a 4dr Buick Lesabre, then had to buy a 1980'ish 2dr Chevy Chevette hatchback.  Dear Lord I hated that thing, although the back seat was great for fooling around when the seats were down.

Rode one of these at about the same time, an '82 Honda Shadow.

This, but not my pick. 1991 Wrangler Sahara, Identical but I had different rims, 31x10.50's, a light bar with 4 KC lights and a 2" shackle lift.

I thought I was so cool.

That's a Ford Sierra - my first car as well.

But, mine was the weaker 1.6L, as opposed to your mighty XR4i

Yep, Merkur, good old Ford of Germany.

I paid $3k for it in 1997, my first car at 16 years old. It was in the shop about half the time I had it.  Sold it a few years later for $800. Fun car but such a POS. I will occasionally see one out on the road these days and I just wonder "How the hell is that car still running?"

My second car was a (used) Ford Capri, which I don't think really ever got imported into the U.S. - but was sort of like a weaker smaller Europeanized mustang.

http://www.ar15.com/media/viewFile.html?i=44330

And I had moved up in the world, and so I could afford one with a V6

They were sold here as Mercury Capri's

That's a Mercury Comet.  The Mercury tagged version of a Ford maverick.

Correct sir...The shit green interior was the crappy part of the car but I put seat and a dash cover in it so it wasn't so bad. I shocked a hell of a lot of people off the line in that car.

I call it my first, but on a technicality.  My dad had an old 87 Integra that I drove for 4 months before we found the Supra.  I don't really call that my first car because it was never meant to be mine since it barely worked.  The Supra was a combination of graciousness of my parents and my own contributions from my job.  Back then, they also didn't cost nearly as much as they've been in recent years
