It's been a day.

Woke up early to trim down a brisket and get it in the smoker. It's an odd angle while I was trimming out the deckel

Made an offering to the spirits of smoke and fire

When I opened it up to check the bark before the wrap.

Still out there.

Meanwhile, I needed to change the brake pads on the wifemobile so I decided to do the rotors as well. Easy easy hour tops. As I was pulling off the tire one of the wheel studs broke

Fuck.

Found a way to remove the stud without having to fuck with the hub.

So I cut an access notch into the dust cover.

Grind it to look better.

Install new stud.

Three hours later....

Change rotors and brake pads in less than an hour. Go test the brakes... Everything holds up and feels good.

Fucking A

I thought you meant you were toasting the end of an era for work, or maybe your wife kicked you out, or you said goodbye to your last AUG, or something

Nah. Nothing that dramatic. Just no more Costco eggnog for a while. Hotdog cart sales are better than ever. Wife and kids have been out of the country for a couple weeks, and I just got something cool for an AUG.

Nice! Good idea on removing wheel stud. No reason they couldn't make a cut out at the factory!

I appreciate the recipe and may try it out when it cools down back into eggnog season.

Eggnog and summertime isn’t very congruent with each other.

We’re in the heat and outdoor bubble party era now. So It’s chilled fruity drink time.
