finish setting up the whole system built around the record player...and it doesn't work. needle just skates across the top. tried adjusting all the things, no joy.

Nah, I probably need a new needle.

Simple enough, but the belt drive is also making noise.  There is a shop near by so between the two, I have a reason to give them some business, keep them going and be sure it is in good shape. Hasn’t been used in 7-8 years.

Do you use coolant with the g10?  I remember listening to Rick Hinderer, iirc, talking about how that's the only way he'll work with g10 and maybe carbon fiber.

It makes sense. Making handles is nasty.

Since I did the brisket this week we took it easy. I just wanted fried pickles but my wife suggested that doesn't constitute a meal so I got pizza to go with it.

Just chilled out, watched the Euros and napped. Solid Father's Day.

Happy Father's day to all as well.

We used to live in a downtown area 3 blocks from Benihana. My wife and I would walk to Benihana for lunch very frequently to the point that the sushi bar chef and staff knew us by name. The staff at the Benihana were predominantly all Nepalese. I found them to be auper kind people and later in life had a Nepalese coworker who was an army medic that became naturalized. He’s one of the kindest people I know in life and they’ve had us over for dinner a few times. In short, Nepalese food is delicious.
