That close to the ocean...why wouldn't the body be put into the water?

Quoted: That close to the ocean...why wouldn't the body be put into the water? View Quote If one doesn't own a boat, then you've got to rent one and somehow sneak a body onto the boat at a likely crowded marina during business hours. Scott Peterson has his own boat and how did that one work out for him? Last year, there was a body found in a container in a lake in Kentucky. They ID the victim and it was a woman missing from Texas. First thing the cops did was check the local rental marinas to see if anyone from Texas had rented a boat recently. Sure enough, one guy had and they had him locked up with a confession within 24 hours. |

Without a confession or evidence to prove it wasn't just one of them acting alone is it hard to put both behind bars a quarter century after the fact? View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted: The original investigation of Kristin’s disappearance on May 25, 1996, was botched from the start, with the detective acknowledging in the podcast that there were “shortcomings and oversights that took place.” Paul Flores, who lived in the Santa Lucia dorm, gave conflicting accounts in separate interviews with investigators about where he last saw Smart. Flores also gave investigators different stories about how he received a black eye — from a basketball game or fixing his truck. In Flores’s room, cadaver dogs “alerted” investigators to the corner of his mattress. Although her body was never discovered, what might be Smart’s earring was found by a tenant at the former residence of Paul Flores’ mother. This earring was not marked as evidence and has since been lost by the police. https://pbs.twimg.com/media/Ewm_HFxWQAwXpw4?format=jpg&name=large Jesus, they should charge those cops with accessory. |

I was too young to be really aware of this at the time, but I grew up around SLO, my parents went to Cal Poly, etc, so this whole thing is pretty interesting to me. Hope she finally gets some justice.
