Quoted: Foliage > FDE and ODG Magpul and all the other companies never should've discontinued it. https://i.pinimg.com/originals/90/0d/72/900d7200792c576af6ef9551505357d0.jpg View Quote I like that a lot. |

Not a fan either. I don’t hate it but it doesn’t appeal to me.

Anything fde I own was bought because it was the absolute best deal. I care very little about colors, but damn the few things I do own in fde look cool as shit.
You do have a point about 50 shades of fde. No two items are the same color. |
|
Everything here is either green or white depending on the time of year and I think I only have one FDE gun, but I like FDE, generally speaking.

I like that there’s eleventy billion shades of FDE, so all the FDE gear looks like somebody on the spectrum kitted it out.

I’ve never seen trees with green bark, nor have I been in a woods where brown wasn’t an extremely common color. There’s also two seasons of nothing but brown where I live.
FDE doesn’t only fit in the desert. |

Only really wanted a fde scar but I have a few things because it was what they had besides black at the time. |

In honor of this thread, I changed the furniture on my Poop Flinger to FDE.
My son said to add some yellow spots here and there. |

Quoted: I really liked foliage/medium greens that no one seems to make any more. It also helps avoid the contrast problem of black and ODG, and it looks less like something that came out of a baby's ass. View Quote I really like foliage, I have a couple rifles with all the Magpul goodies including magazines. Wish they still made it. I also have a couple black rifles and one OD that designates that it's actually a .22. Maybe some of that urban grey next time around. |

Having a firearm in the predominant color of your environment makes sense. If you are in the dry, desert type areas, then FDE might make sense... In the wet parts of the very green Pacific Northwest, either olive drab, ranger green, or some type of green color would make more sense.
But other folks are of course, free to have their firearms in whatever color/s they choose...including orange, pink, red white and blue, or any other color/s. After all, it is their firearm. |

What we really need is a “lead splattered on steel” camo. Shit turns invisible in every seasonal backdrop.

I don't buy guns specifically in FDE but it is not going to keep me from getting a model I want. I like Foliage Green and ODG better. I usually rattle can my rifles so it hardly matters. This is the only build so far that is intentionally monochromatic. Norrell MolyResin on the receivers, mag, and tube. DupliColor etching primer with clearcoat on the stock and grip.

Cool thing with guns, especially ARs is variety is fun. Different sizes and different colors. My favorite is ODG but have a couple guns in FDE. One of these days I'll get brave enough, or drunk enough, to try the sponge painting on a rifle or two to mix it up a little.

I will say, I don’t like ALL FDE. Two tone FDEs are best (and a lot cheaper and easier to color match). Like tan frame black slide glocks. Or on an AR. Just the HG PG and Stock/brace, maybe the CH and Selector too.
Also, when you live in places that are hotter than hell you want light colored guns so they don’t get insanely hot. I also miss foliage green. OD green looks like shit. |

I don't really care what color my stuff is as long as it works. It's a gun not a Barbie Doll.

You’re going to get more FDE guns in this thread, than if you would have requested it
