I have lost rooves off several tin buildings. Houses are shedding shingles. Doors are gone off machine sheds. Dozen power poles are down within a mile or two.. Rooves tore up and are in my overhead power lines, so I can't generate. No power no water for cattle. Its a real shit show here. The wind straight from the west is something we usually don't see.
Central kansas. |

Central KS here as well. Had some gusts over 70mph around 5:30. Fort Riley sent out a mass text message telling people to stay indoors because of falling trees and power lines. Watch a tree in my side yard snap in half as shingles were being torn off. Yes, Todo, we are in Kansas.

I am waiting to hear the thunder of these damn beetle infested ash trees behind my house to come crashing down
|
|
Just finished buttoning stuff down and getting it covered with tarps to keep the water off so I don't have Frozen shit in the morning. Got the vehicles moved out of the way of any falling trees, I'm on my second beer, I think I still have time to take the dog outside to play fetch for a 15 or 20 minutes
Central Minnesota, about an hour Northwest of Minneapolis, 50 degrees with light winds |
|
Hour and a half south of the twin cities. 62 on my way home today, melted most of last Fridays snow. Rain and a pretty good lightning show coming in from the west now.
In my garage watching, we'll see what happens! |

I've already dealt with a tornado at 1 wind farm and it ain't fun. Luckily it didn't hit my house but we had some crazy strong winds. Power is out, hopefully it's not out for too long |
|
Saw a little bit of lightning earlier. A few small waves passed by so far, but just minor stuff. Looks like the edge of the big storm is just about to roll in.

NW Chicago suburbs here. Was getting a hair cut after work. One of the big plate glass windows at the front of the salon took a hard hit from a gust and really bowed in. Stylist and I were both watching it and it was freaky. Wind is about 25 mph right now.
The NOAA Great Lakes forecast this morning was saying there could be hurricane force winds on Lake Superior. Maybe a gusty t’storm here after midnight. Keeping my stuff charged just in case. |
|
The storm is here extremely windy. Power is on and off. Good luck everyone.
|
|
Ugly here in Northern Iowa. Tornado sirens going off for 25 minutes without stopping. Kids were scared, but ok now. Still raining and windy but sirens have finally stopped and hail has stopped. According to the radar, round two in less than two hours.

Eau Claire, WI area is 54 degrees foggy, calm barely any wind with some lightning in the distance. We are under a tornado watch. Heavy rain and thunderstorm starting in 28 mins.

Power has been off since noon in my part of Easter CO.
Wind died down just in time to grill steaks. |

Thankfully, I live just south of a huge patch of asphalt and concrete that’s been basking in the sun all day. Should be just enough heat rising tonight to push the line of storms on radar to the north.
I feel bad for folks in central missourah and the missourah-Arkansas border, though. Stay safe, everyone. |

Looks like a pair of tornado warnings just popped up by the Rochester/ Winona area.

Southern Twin cities. Storm over me now. Nothing too special, looks like we dodged the worst of it.
|
|
Just turned the heat off and opened the patio door wide open. Ground is frozen, there is snow on the ground, its 59F outside and raining....
I think I am going to have a couple beers now. SE Metro |
|
Northern Twin Cities suburb here. Moderate rain and lightning, nothing that would be concerning in the summer. Radar shows the worst will be past here in another 30 minutes. South of us looks a lot worse.
|

Gusty wind now. Rain and lightning seems to have tapered off.

We only had regular thunderstorms, pea sized hail. Wind is picking up.
Not so much as a power flicker, but the generator is literally sitting ready to fire it up so I can overreact to an outage |
|
We've only had heavy horizontal rain of big drops, glad it isn't snow but it will be a skating rink when it's done since it's dropped below freezing with the wind and rainfall rate keeping the water on all the streets while they go to freeze mode. Main roads are getting the liquid de-icer prophylactic stuff, not sure what qualifies for that, i guess it's more spendy but they use the "safe" / corrosion reducing additive (no clue what) ice and snow melt and gravel everywhere else.
Not as bad now as it was a bit ago, and looks to be winding down. Current Wind Speed W 28 G 41 mph Rain and snow likely, possibly mixed with freezing rain before 10pm, then a slight chance of snow between 10pm and 11pm. Some thunder is also possible. Cloudy, then gradually becoming partly cloudy, with a low around 19. Windy, with a west northwest wind 25 to 35 mph, with gusts as high as 60 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. Little or no ice accumulation expected. Total nighttime snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible. |

Xcel Energy's outage map is showing about 6000 customers down in southern MN. Not that bad if accurate.

East metro is a huge nothingburger….rain, barely noticeable light breeze, and occasional lightning.

North central ks, 98 mph winds, lots of roofs damaged, morton buildings damaged, fences, electrical fires in trees. It was a shit show, tomorrow is going to be a lot of work. Prepare as best you can, it's a doozy of a destruction.

45 minutes north of MNPLS. Some wind, some rain, nothing major.
Looks like it's going east towards sWisconsin. |
|
Sirens went off about an hour ago, power went out...was in basement for a while. Wind gusts of 102 MPH reported 11 miles East of me where parents live. Several tornados spotted. Local radio station and tv news station still out. Des Moines to Rochester still getting 71 to 82 MPH wind gusts. I've seen a few tornados...had one go by our house as a kid at 3 AM after work. You'll never ever forget the power of the suction and sound they produce.

It just got windy here. County sent a storm warning earlier. Hopefully nobody piles it up on our stretch of interstate. Prayers out for everyone.

Had some tornado touchdowns the next county south of me about 4:30-5:00. Then pretty quiet, until about a half hour ago, and now the wind is really picking up again.
