It wasn't that funny to me, it reminds me of the time I encountered an asshole cop on a power trip. It was very, very accurate. No wonder why many here on GD side with the Empire.

Well - there is the small matter of a reprogrammed K2SO upcoming. That would be a strong way to bring him in. K2 and a forged release/relocation/whatever order.

I did not read the books and have no idea if this story is tracking cannon.

It's actually quite weird to see Star Wars evolve into what it is today. Back in the 20th century this was just a literal kid's movie made to sell toys. Well, it still is anyway but now we're seeing a level of seriousness and adult drama that definitely isn't for kids anymore. I wonder how long can Disney maintain this, George Lucas never would've allowed this to be made if he still owned Star Wars.

I think I already replied. But I’m going to post again anyway. We are enjoying it. It’s not perfect for sure.

I hope they don’t pull the ol’ a Kathleen Kennedy bait and switch, where all the women take over from here on out and Andor will become a lucky bumbling idiot who becomes a hero due to the great women who really made it happen. Nothing wrong with the women helping the scheme but if they have him just become a douche like Kenobi I will be upset.

I don't think it'll happen, plus it's a british production BTW. Brits make Star Wars better than americans do. We end up with garbage like the Book of Boba Fett.

I loved Luthen's discussion with Mon Mothma.

How, in giving logic to his actions, he explained the Empire was nibbling at them, little bit by little bit, so often, they didn't even notice anymore.

I couldn't help but think he was describing us; here, in the US/West today.

The kids who grew up with Star Wars turned out to be adults who love Star Wars... So it makes sense to have more adult Star Wars for us who have loved it from the beginning.

Sounds like 10-12 total, so another two on the prison arc, then a new arc.

You know, I was watching this last episode and it suddenly came to me that maybe one of the reasons I liked this show was the distinct lack of aliens.  The next thing you know, Cassian is watching along the beach of, what, Qatar?  Bahrain? and there are aliens every other step!

Also, who was the girl in the fuck me boots and the red jacket who met with the blonde operative?  Man, not exactly being nondescript and subtle!  If I was a stormtrooper of a dictatorship, her looks and attitude would have triggered an immediate cavity search just on general principle!

Saw could very well attack the prison to free some of his crew or the citizens that have been thrown in jail for BS.

Right. They were clearly not on the same page like they seemed to be in the first(?) episode.
Makes sense though. In the beginning, there were rebel cells of every stripe that fought against the Empire in their own fashion and for their own reasons. The crew of the Ghost did a lot of humanitarian missions while stealing from the Empire. Saw Gerrera’s Partisans were a lot more heavy handed. It took unification to finally take down the Empire. Mon Mothma was a big part of that.

Did anyone else notice how this episode shifted between different stylistic camerawork and moods? All of the scenes of Kleya meeting with Vel had a very film noir vibe; with low, angled camera shots and a matching score. The scenes with Cassian and Maarva had kind of a Yoda's hut vibe. And y'all already mentioned Miami Beach planet, lol. It felt like there was a little more experimentation in this episode, perhaps as a palate cleanser before the back half of the season. The outro music was pretty trippy, too. I actually sat through all the credits just to listen.

I think the other aspect that we're going to see play out is her desire to do things on the down low in the background, whereas he wants more direct action. That's going to lead to a clash over what direction they feel the rebellion should go in.
