Quoted: No don't delete this, Michigan is the best, all the Illinois people should go to Michigan for vacation but not the UP, definitely don't go through Wisconsin, its absolutely horrible here. Also anyone looking to move to Wisconsin should move to Michigan View Quote |

West side is wonderful. Sandy beaches. Great fishing and hunting.
East side is a different State. It should really be separated. UP is a nice place to visit and I do every year. March (syrup season) to Christmas is great. I am on a 115 acre farm 10 min from a beach town and my boat on Lake Michigan. |

Quoted: The UP is awesome other than lack of thin women. Only reason we cross bridge is to hit the Keyhole. Winters aren't easy but they get better once you have hobbies and decide not to be a pussy. View Quote Here's my observations. The kids up here are MUCH (MUCH) thinner and in better shape than the kids in the schools of California. The kids in the elementary school next to my home in CA were almost to a child - fat. Not just "big boned" but unhealthy fatness. The kids up here are WAY (WAY) more active outdoors than the kids in SoCal. In SoCal nobody's kids would be out playing on a cool enough sunny day. Here the kids are outside, riding bikes, doing chores, they're visible. The children up here are SUPER (SUPER) friendly and polite. In SoCal I'd be happy if a kid scratch my car for shitz and giggles, here they go out-of-their-way to be respectful to their elders. The married women tend to have an extra 30-40 pounds on them. The single women must put in the effort as I've noticed that if I see an attractive MILF it's more likely than not she's single. I'm seeing most of these ladies out working in town so that's a big factor but it just seems to me the married ladies follow their men's lead with the beer belly/pear bottom. A lot of the men I've run into are overweight and out-of-shape too. |

Quoted: Can confirm. This state sucks ass. View Quote There were actually two homes on my list from Wisconsin. One was a beautiful home on a bluff overlooking Lake Michigan with a pond, guest house, but no shop and only 8 acres was $600K something. Nice building too. They had a stairway leading down to a bit of sandy beach and a tremendous view. |

Quoted: Used to be much worse. I would love to see some FOIA metadata on that database. View Quote Yeah before I lived here, I heard you actually had to bring the gun to the police department and it would be inspected and a bunch of other crazy shit. They stopped all that and you don't even have to go there in person anymore. You can just send the form in the mail after you buy your pistol. And I have not heard of too many people being busted for not registering unless they were real scumbags and used the gun to commit a crime and it was added as an additional charge or something like that. I think it would be a hard thing to prove that you didn't attempt to register it since you just send a form in the mail and they don't give you any kind of confirmation that they received it, it was logged etc. I think it would be pretty easy to just say I did the mail the form in, I have no idea what happened and why you didnt receive it. Maybe it got lost in the mail, maybe your office staff at the sheriff's dept lost it or didn't input it into their computer correctly etc. |

Quoted: It’s great up here in the Yoop. View Quote Wife's side has roots in the Toivola/ Twin lakes area. Her family still has the property/ house on the water there. Pretty country for sure. Aint nothing going on in that area however, bunch of weirdo's...drove 12 hours to get there a few times. |

Quoted: I know about Brighton (and southern lower) thus I grew up in Grand ledge. My parents lived in Adrian/Tecumseh later on. I'd consider moving back there if the state turned more conservatarian and less D. If fishing were my #1 hobby, then MI would definitely be at or near the top of my list of places to live. It has decent hunting, too. @HDLS I've climbed at Grand Ledge a few times. I lived in GRAP. |

Quoted: My impressions when I was there was that a two hundred pounder was about the average you were going to find. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted: Quoted: Quoted: Are the chicks all nice & thin there? The fitness trend and yoga pants has been in here for a long time now. Downside: All the big girls want to be drooled over like the in-shape girls so there's often some "egads" moments when people watching. My impressions when I was there was that a two hundred pounder was about the average you were going to find. Serious/honest question: Were you at a Wal-Mart? The Wal-Marts I've been to out of state are way better than the ones in MI. I walked into one that had just been built - ground up, completely 100% new - in the first week of it being opened and it already looked dirty. Go to better parts of the state and things much nicer. |

Quoted: Absolutely! Ohio sucks! Michigan is the place to be! View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted: Quoted: Quoted: Yep. Michigan is awesome. If anyone is looking for a new state, Michigan is a fine choice. Hey Ohio! Go fuck yourself! Seriously though, I love Michigan for all its dichotomies. Heavy Union, but Union guys want to hunt and carry guns. Lotsa immigrants, but they’re often very right wing. Yeah our current governor sucks, but most local politicians understand that there’s a line you don’t wanna cross. Things could be better, but we’re better than Ohio!!! Absolutely! Ohio sucks! Michigan is the place to be! Nah, Michigan sucks. All California douchebags should move to Ohio. |

Quoted: There was a strong recall effort going on that suddenly and quietly disappeared. That woman is nothing but a thug and her coven of bitches are pure evil. View Quote Didn't the recall organizers accuse each other of stealing and then just halt the recall? Was that a false flag to prevent an honest recall effort? Wholeheartedly agree with you on Nessel and Benson. |

1) you would definitely be moving up. 2) Dearborn is what you seek. Or maybe Saginaw. |

I lived here for 24 years, moved to Wisconsin for 12 years, and came back to Michigan last year to be closer to family. I have 40 acres in the northern lower peninsula which I enjoy going to very much. Easier now that it’s 2 hrs away, and not 8.
I have enjoyed most places away from the typical cities. Like almost every other state I’ve visited |

You want to be in grand traverse, charleviox, antrim or emmet counties. Water, lots of money and mostly liked minded people. No better place april thru october, november turns gray, but Iam ok with it, snowmobiling and skiing season and way less tourists. Get those california plates off quick, if you value your health. Michigan is like 4 states.

Quoted: Michiganian is the correct nomenclature. I heard a coworker from michigan ranting about michigander, it seems it has increased use. I shouldn't have said "bitch" geese though, since gander is a male goose. View Quote Haha I don't even know what I was trying to say there. Yeah a poster in another thread brought it up, he said Michigander died off as a saying around the time Snyder was elected. Michiganian it is. |
