1st bike was  71 Yamaha RT1 360 Enduro

Sometime between 1974 & 75 I got a slightly used Honda CB 350 that had the front raked 6".

I didn't keep it for long and traded up to a 750SS.

I rode my friends dirt bikes in secret as a kid. My first bike was a 1986 Honda VT 700 shadow. In 1998.

Once I got my drivers license and got my first car, my motorcycle days were done.  Probably for the best too.

The 80's happened, got married and raised kids.  Once I got into my 50's, the bug bit me again.  I took the motorcycle safety course and got my motorcycle endorsement, bought a Honda 500X.

Seems to be a perfect fit for an older guy.  Fast enough to run the roads and highways around farm country.  Slow enough to keep me off the interstate roads.  I can do gravel roads, ride the pasture and farm lanes.

It will easily do the speed limit, and is forgiving on the throttle at the same time.  I've been riding this one for 3 years now, and haven't gotten tired of it yet.

My dad had one of those and a Ossa 250.  I was too small to ride them, but did ride a little 80cc. Not sure what brand it was.

Exactly as pictured but sadly it’s not my bike. Mine was lost in a fire

Years later moved up to this, again not my photo. Sadly a drunk rear ended me and rearranged the bike.

So that's what the OEM 4 into 1 looks like.
We just sold one with a Kerker at Mecum for $21k.

There are some unbelievably expensive bikes today shown in this thread, oh, if we'd only knew.

1973 Honda XR75

I rode that bike for a few years while saving money, and then I bought a brand new 1984 CR80 like this one.

Sold that one in 1985 to help pay for my first car, a 1963 Impala SS that I bought from the original owner.  Still have that one!

I wish I'd known then what I know now, because that was the first year for the XR75.  I started gathering the parts to build myself another one a few years ago but those things have gone absolutely nuts!  Especially the 73 models.

My first bike was the DT100 Yamaha enduro.  Rode it and jumped it so much I cracked the frame.  Had it rewelded and sold it years later.  I still miss that bike.

1972 Yamaha JT2 60cc,  in December of 1972. I still have it. After I rode it for about 6 months, I got a 1971 Yamaha DT1 250. We put a Bates solo seat on it, so I could touch the ground.

First bike was a 73 Yamaha Mini Enduro 60. Stepped up to a 76 Yamaha 125 Enduro. First true street bike was a 73 Suzuki 550 two-stroke triple. Some ungodly 10k redline, sounded like a truck load of pissed off bumble bees. Went to a 73 Harley Sportster and have been on Harleys ever since.

Had one of those. Shaved the rotary valve a few MM's, went up on the mains 2 sizes, raised the needle 2 clicks, K&N air filter, Bassani flat track pipe and dropped down one tooth on the counter sprocket. Wow! Turning right and going left.

Got my first bike a month ago. Guy at work asked if I wanted to buy a bike. Sure. What you got and how much. “78 CB 550. $100. I had it running last summer but not good”

I’ll take it.

I’m 55
I rode all my cousins bikes as a kid so it’s not totally new to me.

Turns out whoever worked on it really screwed up the carb. SIL and I have been plugging away at it and I’ve been riding it around this week.

69 XLCH painted 1985 Dodge Daytona Red. Kick start, foot shifter lever on right side, rear brake on left side. I bought it from a buddy after getting back from the first gulf war. He had leg issues and couldn't kick start it anymore.

I learned to ride the moment I rode it out of his garage I sat on it, played with the levers a bit, kicked it over and off I went.  My parents let me own guns as a kid but would never let me have a motorcycle - too dangerous
