Sometime between 1974 & 75 I got a slightly used Honda CB 350 that had the front raked 6".
I didn't keep it for long and traded up to a 750SS. |
|
I rode my friends dirt bikes in secret as a kid. My first bike was a 1986 Honda VT 700 shadow. In 1998.

1972 Yamaha JT2 60cc, in December of 1972. I still have it. After I rode it for about 6 months, I got a 1971 Yamaha DT1 250. We put a Bates solo seat on it, so I could touch the ground.

First bike was a 73 Yamaha Mini Enduro 60. Stepped up to a 76 Yamaha 125 Enduro. First true street bike was a 73 Suzuki 550 two-stroke triple. Some ungodly 10k redline, sounded like a truck load of pissed off bumble bees. Went to a 73 Harley Sportster and have been on Harleys ever since.

Got my first bike a month ago. Guy at work asked if I wanted to buy a bike. Sure. What you got and how much. “78 CB 550. $100. I had it running last summer but not good”
I’ll take it. I’m 55 I rode all my cousins bikes as a kid so it’s not totally new to me. Turns out whoever worked on it really screwed up the carb. SIL and I have been plugging away at it and I’ve been riding it around this week. Attached File |

69 XLCH painted 1985 Dodge Daytona Red. Kick start, foot shifter lever on right side, rear brake on left side. I bought it from a buddy after getting back from the first gulf war. He had leg issues and couldn't kick start it anymore.
I learned to ride the moment I rode it out of his garage I sat on it, played with the levers a bit, kicked it over and off I went. My parents let me own guns as a kid but would never let me have a motorcycle - too dangerous Attached File |
