I don’t know what it is, but it is cuter than hell and looks like it is going to be trouble.
That one looks like a plotter. |

Dont think its a Malinois. Wait till he's about a year old and see if he is like an Irish Setter on crack.......Malinois are great dogs but you gotta know how to work'em. Easily distracted, Hyper, aggressive in a playful way but can inadvertently draw blood when they get too excited. But great working dogs.

Given that both the pictured pillows and the blanket are completely intact, I’m going negative on the Mal.

What are the details of the GSD in post 45 on page 1? If OK, I would be calling to go see him....today.. Or two hours ago would be better.

Definitely not a Mal.
Probably not a Terv. Likely a mix with some German Shepherd or Mal in there. |

As rare as Tervurens are in the US, do you really think a puppy is going to end up as a rescue in a shelter? I picked up a purebred 3 to 4 month old Vizsla pup from an animal shelter in Fayette-NAM, NC in the spring of 1995 . My papered 6-mo old Weim got picked up by Weim Rescue from a shelter, and thence to me. Shelter called the breeder. Weim Rescue called the breeder. Basically a case of, "Yeah, it came from here. The check cleared. Click!" People are often not good. Their loss. She was a great dog. |

Has it eaten a hole through a wall yet? If so then it is definitely a maligator...

The stereotypical Mal seems to be the more dark color, the tan with black snout ones like these and S-1's photo tend to engender misidentification I think. |

That is not a full Mal puppy, what you have there is one cute puppy.
I would say GSD and Mal. |

If I did not have too many dogs.... I would be tempted to get this furniture removal tool.

Looks like a LC GSD to me. If not pure blood, it has LC GSD in it's lineage somewhere close.

I'll probably take a shelter dog for my next German Shepherd. It's going to wait until I retire fully because I do not have time to dedicate to one right now. And that's why these dogs wind up at the pound. Folks think they're going to be all cuddly and nice when, in fact, they are assholish herding dogs if left to their own devices. The explosion of back yard breeding during the Covid lockdowns hasn't helped the situation at all.
Do not be afraid to use a firm pimp hand, but don't abuse the animal. The Monks at New Skete have pretty much written the book on how it's done. Some prefer to differ because everyone is their own ultimate expert but the New Skete way works. Attached File It's available through Amazon as a free e-book if you have Prime. |

OP, the pictures you posted indicate that pup most likely is not a Malinois. If you look into it's eyes it appears to have a soul.
Malinois (most of them) don't have a soul or any indication of "I'm a domestic animal". They are great at what they do, but most people aren't up to the challenge or work it takes to have one. They are definitely the working breed of working breeds... See, no soul: Attached File Attached File |
