Gentlemen, I do believe we are at the brink. View Quote I hope not, but it's looking that way. A ground war with Iran would be catastrophic, for many reasons: - Iran is BIG. At least 5 times bigger than Iraq. 3 times bigger than Afghanistan. Full of empty desert and rugged desert mountain ranges. Getting military forces in place, mobile and supplied would be a stupendous task, if possible at all. The only way to get to it is through the Gulf of Oman. - Iran's population dwarves other middle eastern countries: about 90,000,000. - It has a technologically advanced air defense system - mobile and fixed, single and multiple target capable. - It has a big military; over 1 million active and reserve, with tens of millions ready to draft and chanting "death to America!" No, they can't match the U.S. by the numbers, and in general their weaponry is not first-tier, but they certainly wouldn't be pushovers. Iraq and Afghanistan would be a walk in the park compared to Iran. If they decide to roll up their sleeves and jump into this conflict, God help us. |

I do not believe that woman with the calf/leg injuries was killed.
Pretty sure that is Al Jazeera Carmen Joukhadar https://www.instagram.com/caghmen/?hl=en ALMA Al-SHAAB, Lebanon (AP) An Israeli shell landed in a gathering of international journalists covering clashes on the border in south Lebanon, killing one and leaving six others injured. An Associated Press photographer at the scene saw the body of the dead journalist and the six who were wounded, some of whom were rushed to hospitals in ambulances. Images from the scene showed a charred car. Qatar's Al-Jazeera TV, said two of its employees, Elie Brakhya and reporter Carmen Joukhadar, were among the wounded. The Associated Press is not naming the other outlets whose journalists were killed or injured until they make public statements on the matter. The shelling occurred during an exchange of fire along the Lebanon-Israel border between Israeli troops and members of Lebanon's militant Hezbollah group. The Lebanon-Israel border has been witnessing sporadic acts of violence since Saturday's attack by the militant Palestinian group Hamas on southern Israel. Journalists from around the world have been coming to Lebanon out of concern that war might break out between Hezbollah and Israel. View Quote |

There’s no point in occupying countries in the Middle East. They act, we take out their power, water, telecoms, naval assets, military installations and their cultural sites. Sink tankers and transports in their harbors, bomb their manufacturing and raw material processing centers, They act up we do it all over. Jewish NYC councilwoman Inna Vernikov is arrested for wearing a gun on her waist while opposing pro-Palestine rally at Brooklyn College
'I'm here at the pro-Hamas rally in Brooklyn college. There is a ton of police and we made sure the Jewish students feel safe today,' she said A New York City councilwoman has been arrested after she wore a gun on her waist while opposing a pro-Palestine rally at CUNY’s Brooklyn College. Republican Brooklyn councilwoman Inna Vernikov, who is Jewish, turned herself in to the NYPD early on Friday after her appearance at the school's Flatbush campus, where hundreds gathered to support Palestine after Hamas' attack left over 1,000 Israelis dead. Officials reportedly contacted her to inform her she was being charged with criminal possession of a weapon, The New York Post reported. Vernikov, 39, was released with a desk appearance ticket and ordered to surrender her gun, a Smith & Wesson 9 millimeter, as well as her concealed carry license, which she just obtained last month. While she had a license, it is a Class E felony to bring a gun to a protest or school grounds, which are deemed 'sensitive locations.' Continued |
