I just spent a couple of weeks in Houston, I was not impressed. Galveston was slightly better, but still not Florida. |

I have long thought that the only people who live in Florida are those born and raised there who do not know any better or old people who go there to die.

I like Florida... but I used to visit quite a bit when my grandparents were still around. Still have family in Miami.
I'd love to be able to fish snapper, mahi mahi with relative ease. Fuck your summers though. |

I love the heat, I love the Gulf of Mexico and the beaches. Love the tiki bars and 12
months of great weather. I also love our place in WNC and can't wait to snowbird full time back and forth. |

I love Florida. I'm a native and I have lived her my whole life. I've traveled the world over and stayed for months in other places. I always come back home. I've lived in South, Central, and North Florida. Yes, it's like three different countries but, the laws are the same throughout the state and while not perfect, I can kill your ass for any forcible felony and chances are I won't go to prison. That's a huge plus. As for the humidity, I love hot and humid. The bugs don't bother me like others and I'll take it any day over cold and dry. I like living in shorts, t-shirts and flip flops. Besides that, I can be on The Gulf of Mexico very quickly diving, spear fishing, fishing, scalloping, or just chilling with hotties in bikinis.
I'll be moving to The Gulf Coast in the next year or two and I'll be living my dream. You guys that want to hate on that can go right ahead and heat until you're heart explodes. It's your funeral pal. I'll send flowers. |

I've been moving people from Ohio to Florida for over 30 years. They all say the same thing, wish we would have done it sooner.

Quoted: I agree with the general sentiment OP, but fuck Florida. I can't wait to get out of this goddamned place and go somewhere I love. There are too many people, there are too many bugs, and it's usually too hot 7-8 months out of the year to actually enjoy anything outdoors. No mountains, no changing colors, etc. I belong somewhere else. View Quote My thoughts exactly. Too damn humid and this place is turning into the next California. |

I agree with OP. I grew up in Montana and love it. Thought that is where I'd move back to in retirement. Spent 30+ years in Oregon, nice place but never really liked it. Wife drug me on a cruise to AK (love at first sight!) and this is where we retired to.
I love it here...wish I was younger and had more $ for toys! |
