Just joined the club. I had to install the rear sight backwards so it fits with the optic, but I was thinking about blacked out rear sights anyhow.

Holy smokes that looks like an sro with an rmr style housing and some of the features people complain about wanting.  As long as the dot/circle dot is selectable it could be a winner.

Holy shit Trijicon actually did something new? I’m legitimately shocked.

You'd think so, but it's Trijicon so I'm not getting my hopes up.  Hopefully it's not a new footprint.

Remarkably fair point.

It looks like it’s basically a SRO with the owl-ear hood design, so I can’t imagine it’s a different footprint/bolt pattern.

Though they were stupid enough to go with a proprietary footprint for the last-to-market RMRcc, so again - it’s Trijicon, don’t get your hopes up

For a half second I thought this was an enclosed emitter optic on an RMR footprint.

I’m disappointed, that said it’s still an improvement over the RMR.

Not a pistol optic = no care.

There is no way in fuck that optic is small enough to fit on a pistol slide. The QD lever would be like a toothpick

Based on the raised housing looks like they went with the SRO layout to have the top loading battery but keep the RMR footprint.

I agree that the circle dot needs to be selectable for this to be a winner.

I know they must keep holster fitment one of their first-most considerations but can you imagine a RMR window comparable in area to the SRO?

As long as your presentation is good, window size is not an issue.

I'm going to Gran Turino my guns when I die and instead of giving them to family, I'm going to give them to hard working immigrant kids.

Window size matters for tracking the dot while shooting at speed

Yah I get that, but a bigger window is gonna help with that and allow you to shoot faster/track the dot under speed better.

If it were like ACOGs where they offer different models with different reticles I'd be fine with it. I also just want a dot, so I'm not sure how useful others would find the ability to change between dot and circle dot.

Id prefer the dot, so by selectable I guess I mean that it can be turned off.

That reticle looks like ass.

In my opinion, the dot should be substantially thicker and brighter than the line of the circle around it. Your eye should be naturally drawn to the center of the optic, not some secondary feature.

I’m gonna guess the commercial version of their new Romeo-M17 optic, since apparently the military M17/18 pistols have a different footprint/bolt pattern from the commercial P320s

Not to throw shade, but when people complain about the tint on the RMR, it makes wonder if they are actually shooting both eyes open/target focus.

If you use the phrase “looking through” when referring to optics on pistols it sounds like you are doing it wrong

I can see that with someone new to red dots but training correctly right off the bat will sort that out quick. I have no problems tracking a target with a RMR.

I still have occasions where I don't find the red dot on the draw. A slightly larger window could help with that.
