Do we have an official Riot Squad Reading List?
This was published earlier this month: Attached File https://www.barnesandnoble.com/w/the-2020-portland-riots-tommy-clark/1141210936 ETA the author in action at 0:15: Portland officer tackles protest medic, punches him in face And I remember seeing a lot of riot coverage and commentary from Julio Rosas: Attached File https://www.barnesandnoble.com/w/fiery-but-mostly-peaceful-julio-rosas/1140788152 (less expensive via Amazon, for some reason) I haven't read either book yet, but the reviews look good, and since the videos seem to be disappearing, I thought these titles might be interesting. |

I am a bit disappointed. I was expecting some blood. I could see the reasoning in using something like a steel spatula with a sharpened edge to separate their hands from whatever they decided to glue themselves to. Wouldn't it be considered cruel to leave them stuck there? |

Should I buy a Zodiac? The river is super close to my condo. I still haven't seen much about what the waterways in and around Chicago are like, so I don't know if it would be a relaxing way to spend some time, a repulsive exploration of a sewer of a river, or something in between. The section on your map isn't too far from the Chicago Harbor and Lake Michigan (with a single lock to get through, between the river and the harbor), so it might be a reasonable way to get out on the lake. As for the Great Loop, the Chicago area does impose one of the basic requirements for selecting a suitable boat - there's a bridge that prevents anything taller than 19 feet above the water from passing through. The Erie canal has a bridge with a 15 foot height restriction, but there is an alternate route (if you are willing to deal with the Canadian border) for boats taller than 15 foot. There is no alternate route that allows getting around the bridge in the Chicago area with the 19 foot height restriction. ETA: There are also some bridges in the Chicago area that are lower than 19 foot, but there is an alternate route to get around them. |
