Quoted: I've always had a huge soft spot for the old school Toyota MR2s. Even though they were slow as fuck, absolute death traps, and overall just shit machines. https://bringatrailer.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/152762216595d565ef66e7dMR2-10.jpg?fit=940%2C529 View Quote I thought they looked kind of cool, and you could buy one with a crappy interior for $400-600, completely replace the interior for $100 with nice parts from a junkyard and a couple hours work. They weren't exactly easy to work on, but they were cheap enough. |

No, the Cord was in the ‘20’s-30’s. The front wheel drive El Dorado came out in ‘67, the Toranado came out in ‘66. Both use the same transaxle. |

View Quote We sold one just like that years ago. MB dealer in Montana was also Buick/GMC. The father who started the dealership bought one new and rarely drove it, sat in our equipment storage building untouched. He passed away and they rolled it out. Cleaned up and sold online to someone, it was like a new car. |

View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted: I had one of those in stone gray when I was a kid, that was a great car. I would have another if I had a big garage. When I lived in downtown DC, I used to sometimes walk out to Georgetown for dinner and a couple of drinks. One of those old townhomes used to have a black one parked outside, and I always stopped to look at it for a minute. It’s the Porsche that Porsche people like to dump on, but I always thought they were super cool. My next DD will be an EV, probably one of the new i4 M50s, but a Taycan if somehow I’m able to justify the expense. But I kind of want an old school, manual sports car for the weekends to keep the old ways alive and I think that it will be the right time for me to finally get in the driver’s seat of a 944. |

Quoted: Maybe in wide scale mass production(or US produced). I think there was one early in the 20’s that was a FWD, but was obviously not large scale or particularly long lived, or an import. Might be a @stutzmech question. That said, I love me some real full-size cars. Truly unappreciated nowadays. View Quote Have to be the cord, 29 I believe, many more stock and race cars before that but not in large production numbers, as side note the cord also had the first CV joints, the ford 999 had FWD, lots of stuff had stuff earlier than most people think |

Quoted: I am shopping for a numbers matching 454 Chevelle SS right this minute.. View Quote Make one of your own? The price of a new body will a whole lot cheaper than undoing 50+ years of bad body work, parking lot damage, and rust. Plus, with new stuff there's no collector value so you can put an infinitely better motor, brakes, suspension, etc. |

I don't really want any mainstream cars.
The car I buy next will be a mid-engine two-seater. Cayman, C8, Alfa 4C all being considered. |
