Free agency and salary caps. The aspect of building a team and coaching staff and watching it mature over a few years was one of the good things about pro football and to a lesser extent college. Teams develop personalities when the players can put down roots in an area and have more time to bond with the other players. |

Logos are serious bidness.
AU administration spent $30K to study what needed changing on the AU logo. They came up with this.  The one on the left is the original and the one on the right was the newly proposed logo. Caused quite a stink. So much so that they Admin dropped the idea completely. We could have saved that money and used it to help pay off our next fired head football coach. |
