Not much depth on the interior. Could be a long lens causing compression.

You can see the rear passenger side door handle in the shot so I'm guessing a bit of photo trickery.

A similar handle can be seen here which is what made it click when I looked at it again:

Yea. J150 was side hinged tho. Overhead hinge gave an opportunity - but it's a world model so. . . Least J250 still has great access

2GD is a fantastic engine in a lot of light and medium commercials.

Even when TICO was less than truthful about certification of output

India and Siam didn't falsify tho so good on them

Looks an even bit lighter than '14 FJ TTUE Heritage - could be lighting tho. Or is the recent Heritage a different shade? Was supposed to be unique - lol.

That's with the hybrid iForce Max. The standard 2.4 turbo will probably be the same as in the Tacoma, 278 hp & 317 lb ft.

It’s gonna be great.

Don’t see myself switching out of my 5th gen though.

Also, that screen is going to play havoc on people driving at night.  I can’t figure out how so many people have that much bright stuff in their faces, even in dark mode, and can still see.

I don’t exactly follow the theory of screens at night, but what annoys me is that the rest of the world gets nice buttons to turn the screens off at will but for “some reason” we can’t have nice things here.

I know the current gens can be turned off if you go into menu hell but what about a nice button?

The amount of interior ambient light between the 4R and the 1st gen taco at night is impressive.

Auto Fudds haven't figured out that modern turbos are superior for towing.  Turbo makes power at the bottom and keeps going all the way up if you needed to but probably won't.

Shut your whore mouth. I leave the back ‘window’ on my 98 Wrangler soft top rolled up 24/7/365 (the plastic is probably completely degraded by this point) and the 2020 4Runner back window is down more than it’s up.

I have my 2020 4R interior turned down to absolute minimum and it’s still too bright. A button that would kill the dash and screen would be fantastic.

The LC is (or should be) wider, that may be a deciding factor. I’m on the list for a GX550, that thing is wider than the LX600 (iirc) and as wide as my F150.

Surprised Toyota didn’t fuck up and remove the roll down rear window, since Toyota likes to fuck things up.

They need to offer the GX550 V6 in the LC250/Taco/4R. Toy also needs to stop putting dinky size fuel tanks in their SUV/Trucks.

I liked that I could black out the interior lighting in my Gen4 with the illum wheel. I can’t in my F150, I had to chop up a blackout curtain from AMZ and put velcro spots on parts of the dash.

It IS time Toyota builds a new gen and YES I am glad they heard the the roll down rear window had to stay (possibly one of the 4Runner's best features and certainly one of the most popular). I am 64 and a long time 4Runner owner. I am on my fourth one now that I bought new in 2019.  It is a TRD ORP. I am kind of old school and I wanted it because it doesn't have some of the weird stuff I didn't need that was offered on other models at the time (lane assist, push button start etc) but is otherwise very well appointed.  It has been a fantastic vehicle for me and is my daily driver and after 5 years it still only has around 26k miles and so (based on my experience of their legendary longevity) I probably will never need to buy another one. But I am certainly looking forward to watching how the gen 6 does.

I still run a 06 Limited V8. 250k miles. Just had it inspected, most the guys in the shop complemented me on it. MPG suck but I don't commute to work so no big deal.

Had an 07 Limited V6 but when I saw the near exact same model in V8 pop up locally for sale, jumped on it like a virgin on a naked prom queen.

I'll run it til it dies.

Same. Only advantage I can think of is if it is outfitted with several cameras to display when crawling/overlanding. Other than that...too big
