Personally, I don't worry about having a little hot sauce on my eggs in the morning. I have a taco seasoning I've made that I put on burger patties from time to time for a different flavor. I'll use a little salsa. Some days I'm "strict" carnivore because that's what I'm eating that day. But I don't worry if I have a day with some sauces or some very low carb veggies, never going above 20g of total carbs for the day. But I'm one that also believes God has designed us to eat a variety of foods... I just recognize that I function best on a primarily meat based diet with a few veggies thrown in from time to time. Although she's not a doctor, Laura Spath is a YouTuber who has lost a lot of weight eating carnivore for the last seven years. She talks a lot about sustainability. Might be worth checking out some of her stuff to hear her perspective. In the end, do what you think is right for your body. Since I've been alive eggs have been good for you... then bad for you... then good for you in moderation... then bad for you... now they are a super food. What do any of us truly know? Agriculture has only existed for 12k years and grains/carbs have always been for slaves and peasants Why would someone choose to eat "rabbit" food? That's a great question. I ask the same when it comes to coffee, unsweetened tea (dirt water), alcohol, oysters, clams... and the list could go on. We all have different tastebuds and enjoy different things. You state that state that fiber can be harmful. If you have the time, would you mind linking to any studies showing that? I know we don't have any studies showing that it's a must have like so many think. But I've never read where it's harmful. If it's harmful, how much does one have to consume for it to be harmful? And harmful in what way? I'm genuinely interested in the data. Interesting that you say, "our bodies do work the same. Otherwise medical treatments wouldn't be a thing." This November will mark the 10 year anniversary of being diagnosed with T-Cell ALL. I had two treatment options. My onc opted for the one that would be outpatient and have the best chance of success. I was only able to do one round of that treatment because of Asparaginase. It can have a side effect of clotting or bleeding for some. I got both at the same time. After switching to the other treatment (hyper-cvad) I started to develop severe neuropathy because of a reaction to Vincristine. I stayed with the hyper-cvad... minus the Vincristine. It's weird. Drugs that will work for a majority of people had side effects for me that made it dangerous to continue using them. What's that about all of our bodies being the same? It's almost like there are a lot of similarities with a number of variations. This topic gets even more interesting when you start talking about the differences in males and females and hormones. I'm not trying to be a jerk. I'm trying to not be dogmatic. All of our bodies are a little different. What one person likes, another doesn't. What one person can handle, another can't. The Inuit lived primarily on meat products, while various Asian communities have a diet loaded with enough rice to blow me up. I think most of us in this thread can agree that the standard American diet (SAD) is horrendous and was never about our health as much as it was about supporting our farmers. The more we can get to eating an animal based diet, the better off we will be. I'm just not one to sit back and say that someone can't have some hot sauce, spices or the occasional veggies as part of their diet if it works for them. I truly hope that doesn't come off as snarky or passive aggressive. Tone is very difficult with the written word. |

Taco seasoning you gotta find one that isn’t loaded with sugar. The avocado spread is fine. I think it’s one carb in a teaspoon. The sour cream has 1 carb per 2 tablespoons. Yes of course there are variations among individuals, even if we operate the same generally, so it's important to see what works for you. Like I said, some people do have unique conditions. If you only feel 10% worse eating plants when I feel 50% worse or more, that's of course up to you if that 10% off of optimal is worth it. For me that choice is insanely easy. As for research re: fiber, it is out there. If you can't find literature and podcasts on it I can post some links but I'd prefer you do your own research. I've found that if I provide information it is never considered and it's always a waste of my time/effort. Every single time. But if somebody uses their time and effort to seek it, they'll appreciate the knowledge much more. The short answer is we don't need it, we can't digest it (herbivores can), it blocks nutrients from being absorbed completely, it causes irritation, and the foods that contain it aren't very nutritious to begin with. |

I think Ive decided to give this a shot starting 4.1.
It will give me time to research more, as well as compile all the supps, ingredients and food to be prepared. I still have food that I eat now that I would prefer not to throw out, but doesnt fit the carnivore plan. |

It also allowed me plenty of time to stock up on prime ribeye steaks. For over two months, every time I went to the grocery store I checked out their prime ribeyes. If I saw one I really liked, I bought it. Whether that was one or six. I currently have 26 prime ribeyes in my freezer. |

Thanks After competitive bodybuilding years ago, and the suck it brought, Im fairly confident I will be able to adjust to this. It will just be a new habits and processes My carb intake now is already pretty low as is and when there are carbs, they are fruit/veggies based, with the periodic brown rice or sweet potatoes. Pizza, bread, etc have been gone for a while now, so no issues there. I already know I'll probably end up in a modified version of this diet due to some of the veggies, nuts, etc. that I truly enjoy. Or family events and activities? Yea, Im not missing out on eating my daughters favorite meal with her on her birthday or Christmas, etc. |

Today is day 20.
I started to have to hold up my pants when I use a urinal a couple of days ago. Still haven't weighed myself. But will need to break out the smaller pants this week. I cheated a little yesterday, someone brought a crapton of some kind of rice dish and some baked beans and I ate about two spoonfuls of each. I felt "off" yesterday afternoon, kind of hard to describe. |

Keep it consistent, move a lot, and let your body do its thing. Don’t get tripped up because you aren’t seeing crazy changes every day or every other day. Won’t work like that. |

View Quote I used to store beans/rice/etc. Gave it away or threw it out. In terms of prepping, my food is alive right now taking care of itself. Land or sea. My long term plan involves being able to hunt or fish in the worst case scenario, and realistically that probably means mostly fishing if things get that bad. Pemmican and biltong with a good fat content if you want something ready for the medium-term. A freezer full of beef is about as good as it gets IMO Edit: Salt and canned butter maybe. But definitely salt |

Strict carnivore allowed me long, intense workouts in my garage a few years ago, no AC, during peak summer FLORIDA heat. The energy was incredible, but I was mindful to make sure I was eating enough. Fat is the energy, so lots of butter, eggs, and fatty cuts of meat. Glorious sweat streaming off me in that garage. No shortage of fuel. Carnivore is incredible. |

Not a single drop, dip, or lull in my energy. |

What are the thoughts on coffee on this? Or is just a caffeine pill the better route?
Not sure I can give caffeine up just quite yet |

They're not as intense and take longer to get the effect so maybe I'd do coffee in the am for a week and tablets if you need more later in the day. Then 2nd week only tablets as needed and a cup of coffee occasionally as a treat or whatever |

I do like drinking it, but if it is too strong or too hot, whatever is in my gut is coming out, fast, and it ain’t fun. Lighter, iced coffee does OK. I would experiment and see but avoid going strong if you value your digestive health. I’ve already recently stopped smoking and vaping and got back to the gym, so I’m baby stepping my exit from vices, and coffee is next, but I am going to step down slowly. Try it and see but the superior solution is ditch it entirely since you will function quite well energy-wise without it. |

Im not huge on coffee, but I figured it would be closer to being allowed than what I use now. Theyre Crystal Light energy powder mixes, and do have some carbs and calories. So Ill probably just switch to coffee, and then tabs to get through the initial start and then reassess from there. |
