Having said that - America has never produced an SKS.

How about a Turkish SKS, that takes AK mags and comes with a factory folding stock.

Make it about $150, or so, and you have the perfect truck gun.

Your post makes no sense, it was pretty obvious the Turks faked a coup to round up the political opposition.

Where are these parts compatible 870 clones?  Everytime something looks close, I get told it's not actually parts compatible.

True, but when it comes to the 91 and 93, I don't think HK has the tooling anymore. The SP5 is probably here because the MP5 tooling was still there and sales were probably shit, so someone got a bright idea. HK Germany is the problem, HK USA is gtg.

I wouldn't be surprised if SIG tried to buy HK at some point, HK-Germany isn't doing well financially. I'm not saying it will happen, I'm just saying I wouldn't be surprised.
They had some reason they couldn't sell the MP7, I don't know if it holds water though.

With PTR-91s being $1000 or so why bother? I'd rather buy American, and you don't need to worry about 922r or anything.

For 5.56 I can see the appeal. An HK-33 clone would be nice.

I've got several Caniks, TP9 series and earlier hammer fired cz copies, all have performed flawless a couple are into 5 figure round count. Got 2 Tisa's 1911's, duty size with rail, and smaller carry model only issues with them have been mag related that wasnt so surprising cause my colts and kimber disliked those mag's as well. Got my first Girsan HP clone recently so far so good only have a couple hundred rounds through so far, but I'm already looking to order another hoping they release an optic cut model.

Shotguns I'd be more cautious buying, the ones made for other companies like CZ and shit seem to be g2g, I have a Tristar I got used for a steal it sometimes stumbles with light loads but will run 00 and slugs perfectly.

It's the left wing German government more than HK GmbH. They have full control over every gun HK sells and can decide who they sell and export to, how, when and in what quantities.

HK laughed at Sig and FN when they spent a fortune to stand up major operations to the USA. HK were fat on big contracts and chose to stay put.

Now they suck hind tit to those companies.

4 pages in, and not a single SVD request??

First's!   If TISAS made SVD's at the same degree of quality and attention to matching the spec, and aggressive price philosophy as they are doing 1911's they will insta sell shipping containers of them.  Everybody wants an SVD.

I'll say this, if you aren't buying Turkish guns right now, you aren't paying attention.

I would happily buy American made 870s instead. I do buy older used Wingmasters and other decent examples of well made 870s of any type.

Modern Remington shotguns - from the past couple of decades - are frankly awful. Poor fit and finish. Functionality issues. Rusting problems while still brand new.

I'm ashamed that they're so poorly made that many budget imports from Turkey are better in every way - but that's the reality of the situation.

$79 but they were on sale since he got a deal. I bought them locally but I've seen them all over the place online usually for $100 plus or minus $20.

My first pump gun was a 1978 Wingmaster new in the box and it’s always been a complete turd.  The shell latches have been restaked three times and it threw a latch again and jammed the last time I took it hunting.  It looks beautiful but is junk. It’s a Dupont era gun.

Good.

Most higher tier stuff, even Ruger is becoming stupid priced.
PSA can sell something for 500 dollars, Ruger wants twice the cost.
A GP100 has increased in price what, almost 3x in the past 20 years.
What is the value of that steel vs the value of everything in an AR? Probably the same. Yeah it may require a bit more experience and skill to slap together annice revolver, but its not  a 600 dollar increase.

I’m glad we’re seeing this, some of these prices are just ridiculous.

Except for they’re really not well machined.  Poor barrel indexing, rough internals, and poorly trued receivers are the norm.  Compare them to entry level guns like a Browning or Beretta and they’re polished  turds.  Compare them to a step above like Rizinni, Fabarm, or CG and they look like something a child made in a developing nation.  Cosmetically, they look sort of nice, functionally their machining process is far behind and it shows in the product they produce.

Yildiz on the other hand…they have outstanding machining.  CZ may catch up one day but they have poured more money into aesthetically pleasing guns than producing a solid gun that will stand the test of time and high volume shooting.

CZ builds a gun based off a solid action but the Turkish sourcing for steel is still plagued by alloy problems and soft actions are still common.  Exacerbating the problem is their work force and poor QC, lots of poorly trued receiver fits leave the factory.  Their barrel indexing process has to be ran by a blind man.

CZ, makes an aesthetically pleasing gun for people on a budget, people think they’re getting a SP1, 525, 725, etc… for half the the price.  You can likely get many years of light hunting out of them…if not a lifetime.  But make no mistake, these are not the 50k-100k round guns that quality entry level O/U’s are…not yet anyway.
