I'm taking guesses at the MVIS stuff. But realistically they could be an IP holder and allow companies to produce under license.

Not my bag to put into but I've been following this thread for months.

I tried and failed at this kind of thing. Now I'm full Buffet: companies with history, positive shares, and dividends.

Couple things:

  1. MSFT has until EoY 23 to secure the NED vertical IP and continue HL2/IVAS production and delivery.

  2. Complete dick move by MSFT offering $0 royalties plus no 4Q22 guidance. Looks like a brazen attempt to keep MVIS pps down to purchase vertical or whole company at a reduced price. Can we as MVIS shareholders sue MSFT for pps suppression?

  3. Revenue, MVIS needs it bad. Partnership, OEM/Tier 1 order, nonrecurring engineering contract, basically fucking anything!

  4. Not financial advice

What just checking out our Winter Bag Collection to see if you want to get some for yourself?

MVIS is highly speculative, like most of the stocks we talk about here, invest at your own peril.

And really get some skin in the game big boi! We're all into multiple sector/ETFs/blue balls chips.

I'm pretty tapped maxing tax advantages accounts. That said, I try to throw cash in a play account and pick up some stocks I see on sale. Grabbed some INTC at 24.99, looking to grab some other undervalued stocks as this dip continues.

I got really, really curious about this and started doing some reading a while back. What a huge corporation can do to small upstarts that turns out to be accepted business practice is absolutely mind boggling...up to and including buying unlimited put options and shorts.

A couple of people on R/MVIS made the argument that shares held short in MVIS accelerated dramatically after MSFT was proven to be the 2017 contract customer...and MSFT was doing the shorting, albeit through proxies. It is an interesting theory, and I certainly wouldn't put it past them.

All perfectly legal, with no shareholder recourse that I'm aware of.

It makes the most sense that MVIS was shorted aggressively anyway due to the nature of little to no revenue of it's IP business.
Some deep pocket entity is providing top cover. If you look at the numbers for Oct you see most days over 60% and several around 75% short selling.
Where or when does the buy side even out here? If MSFT is providing cash or shares to cover the FTDs, will we ever find out?

To be fair ( <---- people always say this when they are going to offer an opinion) I really dislike MSFT as a company.
I remember back in the early 90s, DoD asked them for the WinOS source code in the name of Cyber Security and MSFT said no.
China did the same but with the threat of being banned in their country and those fuckers couldn't get them the source fast enough.
I couldn't (and still can't) believe .mil uses any MFST products at all!

Velodyne (NASDAQ:VLDR) shares gained 5% Monday morning after the lidar solutions firm agreed to merge with fellow lidar tech firm Ouster (NYSE:OUST) in an all-stock deal.
Under the terms of the deal, each Velodyne (VLDR) share will be exchanged for 0.8204 shares of Ouster (OUST) at closing. The transaction will result in existing Velodyne and Ouster shareholders each owning approximately 50% of the combined company, based on current shares outstanding.
Both companies will continue to operate their businesses independently until the close of the merger transactions, which is expected in the first half of 2023.
The combined company is expected to drive lidar adoption and result in a strong financial position, increased operational efficiencies, and a complementary customer base in fast-growing end-markets. The companies had a combined cash balance of ~$355M at Sep-end, and aim to realize annualized cost savings of at least $75M within nine months after deal closing.

    As the prophet Sharma foretold...

This is the headline from Barrons:
"Self-Driving Car Company Ouster Buys Competitor Velodyne for a Song"

The funniest part of the whole thing is both of them are currently suing each other. Or...I guess they were. If you push two dumpster fires up against each other, do you get more heat, or more smoke?

    Past behavior and all that….,,

It did respond. It went down.

I watched the earlier video from Bosch.  It seems similar but has me concerned that MVIS may not be the only “Best in class” LiDAR out there.

But MVIS tech, IP, and software may be in it.

I will grant you, seeing Microvision even mentioned is a step forward. I can clearly remember this kind of article over the last two years that omitted MVIS completely. Like it didn't exist. Grudging recognition, but recognition nonetheless.
