If you want to trade during your 90-day lock, just start an account using TD Ameritrade and download ThinkorSwim. It's a little harder to use than Robinhood but you don't have to pay for Level II or any of that. Still $0 commissions except for some OTC stocks. When you get your Robinhood unlocked, turn on Day Trader Protection. It will alert you when you've made 3 day trades. You can still make the 4th one but you get alerted before you hit PDT. |

So yesterday I bought and sold GNUS, then bought back in.
is that considered a "day trade"? and if it is, how many of my 5 transactions have I utilized? - I'm still holding GNUS from the second purchase (overnight). -KJ |

You get 3 freebies in a rolling 5 trading day period. Once you hit that 4th daytrade you are flagged as a Pattern Day Trader and subject to the $25,000 requirement. This is an SEC requirement.
Any position opened and closed the same trading day counts as a daytrade. This includes options trades. |

Cold, wet and grey here this morning, so here's my armchair estimation of where we are. These are all GUESSES! Again, I'm frequently wrong, just ask my wife
- CEO/BOD's plan was to spin off Near Eye Display (Hololens II), Interactive Display and possibly Display only to concentrate on LIDAR. Other companies have their own version of machine "sight", but MVIS' is very good and very compact. They've been talking to a couple of auto makers for a long time, but the auto guys have an un-Godly long lead time on their incorporation of novel tech. The potential "NO" vote on reverse split and dilution has put their plans at risk, and they're very unhappy. CEO told a shareholder on LinkedIn yesterday "trust is a two-way street". His feels are hurt because for the first time in 20 years they didn't get a blank check. If they sold those verticals, would they pay a dividend to shareholders? They'd almost have to, or face a vote of no confidence and removal. Would they risk that? They might. 30% probability. - More and more investors are filing complaints with the SEC/FTC over trading irregularities. The FTC had already opened an investigation into the tech majors acquisition "habits", focusing on whether they drive small companies to the point of insolvency to buy them dead cheap. Someone has kept Microvision on life support for a very long time, never killing the host but profiting hugely from the volatility. My money is on a hedge fund, but that doesn't mean Microsoft, Apple, Amazon, et al aren't on the sidelines cheering. Could a very negative spotlight force MSFT to buy all of MVIS, when they only want a portion, just to make the pain go away? I think it could. That dramatic PR moment in Florida stank of powerplay with two parties sitting on opposite sides of a table negotiating value. Less than 10% probability, unless the SEC does their job. - A consortium buy wouldn't surprise me, but it will take a very long time to negotiate and close. In the competition for the XR space (that's shorthand for augmented reality, virtual reality, etc), the competing technologies are falling away. MEMS LBS is coming out ahead, and none of the competitors in that market can afford to have a single rival "own" the optimal solution. They've done group buys before to keep from getting into a bidding war that would spike the acquisition price into the stratosphere. Damn shame, that 40% probability. - Bankruptcy filing. Huge scary word for investors, unless you understand the situation and how subordinate debt works. When a company liquidates, there is an auction of the assets, and the proceeds go to satisfy the hierarchy of debt. The higher levels are always satisfied first, then the subordinate debt, until you're out of funds from the firesale. Guess who sits dead last in that little rank order? Yep, the shareholders... ...only, holy shit, MVIS has no debt. That means they settle the outstanding, trivial bills, severance for the employees and the entire remainder goes to the shareholders. I'm waiting for the BK threat from management, only they know an auction serves the same principle as a bidding war among the rivals. It might actually be the ideal outcome for the shareholders. Keep that in mind if you hear them threaten bankruptcy, it's critical...and management will try to frighten shareholders to press their proxy any day now. 20% probability. That's my shot at the most probable outcomes right now. Does NOT account for wildcards, shenanigans (other then para 2), black swans, white knights, earthquakes, floods, ball hit a rock... Good luck if you continue the ride. It's going to be deadly dull for weeks, interspersed with moments of sheer terror. Kind of like war BTW, I expect the ASM to be a real shit-show. Small run-up to big disappointment. It's going to be smoke and mirrors, NDAs and threats. Pay no heed, but watch for the hard sell off on the backside. |

I'm expecting a run this afternoon and Monday. I'm just looking for enough to pay for the balance of my vacation and a sod project after taxes and tithes. So it sound like Osprey and I are on the same page. I, of course, have the 75K shares in my IRA that I don't dare day trade. Sure as I do, they will announce a $7.5 sale. I'm letting those ride as the profits already made will pay for the 75k remaining. The worst I can do is break even. I like having the shares in my brokerage account to scratch that itch and keep me from changing my mind on the 75k. There will be a sale of at least a part of the company, preferably it all. Apple buying NextVR seems to add some pressure to Microsoft. |

So today my strategy -- presuming I get enough profits and the stock a relatively stable or going up -- is to wait until after hours to sell (if I decide to sell).
