Bought my first SPY call this morning.  8/18 $444 strike for $235 and sold just before close for $427 for an 81% profit in less than 7 hrs.  Only $192 bucks but I will take it. I thought about letting it ride, but decided that with everything else not going great today, some realized gains would be good.

I have a ton of mvis $14 puts expiring Friday. I honestly don't care if they are assigned or not.  I sold them in the money 3 weeks ago for 1.75 a contract i think.

Yeah, IIRC we bought them around the same time.  I've four 8/20 @ $14 strike Puts.  Three at $1.75 premium and one at $1.74.

I think they'll expire useless...I think.

Yeah got a bunch of $20 covered calls sold for aug 27 expiration too. Thinking we stay in the mid teens until sept.  Deciding whether to load up on mvis with all spare cash before the Germany event.  Thoughs?

I wouldn't mind owning another few hundred shares outright...anywhere around $14 myself leading into the Germany event (please, no cancellations due to COVID...please).  I've already a buttload of shares, so I'll think about it, but I like your plan.  It should be pretty damn easy to flip those shares for an easy couple few dollars each into the event.

It's been shitty for selling covered calls starting three days after the Q2 Earnings Report, especially on anything over $20 which I was trying to stick to with anything up to my 8/20 call contract sales I placed earlier.  I think I mentioned that plan several pages back.
As of right now, all I have sold for 8/20 are 35 contracts at $23.  I only netted .13 per share premium on those, bought them a week before the earnings report IIRC.

Then today happened, and MVIS is still red so all call premiums still suck.  I'm waiting until tomorrow and I may sell some then if the share price starts an uptrend...otherwise I wait another day or so.

The Microvision IAA Mobility Trade Fair is 9/7 - 9/12.  My expectations is a trend upwards in stock price for those dates of 9/7 thru 9/12 and possibly into the following week.

So my plan starting this week was:

*  For my 8/27 and 9/3 call contract sales, I plan to look at $16 - $18 strikes.

*  For call contracts I sell with options expiration on 9/10 and possibly into the week of 9/17 expiration, I'll re-up my $20+ strikes (By the way 9/17 is the third Friday, we're supposed to concentrate on those for better premiums all around?).

I've got PUTS sales out there for 9/10.  Eight at $16.50, which is the first leg of my roll of the eight 8/20 @ $16.50 I'm still holding while I wait for better buy back premiums, and 2 @ $14.50 which were from last week's sales.  I plan on selling more puts for 9/10 and 9/17.

Osprey hasn't posted in here in three days. Anyone talk to him? Hope all is well.

I'll also leave this little nugget here. Something is happening.

Reported Institutional Holdings increased from 21.05% on 8/6 to 23.68% on 8/12, then to 27.29% on 8/14.

Major Institutional firms are Vanguard, Blackrock, Fidelity, JPMorgan, Goldman
Blackrock bought 6.5M shares recently at average price above $17.50.

You think?

MVIS was added to the Russell at the end of June.  That seems a bit late to be buying on the reconstitution.

The Insitutes are reporting for the 2Q, apparently they are given 6 weeks to report their holdings. Wouldn't want to give away the secret sauce to Vanguard or Blackrock success now would we.
Also some semblance of retail money managers try to follow the "smart money" making these disclosure somewhat valuable to predicting up trending tickers - or so the legend goes.
I'm guessing there might also be ramification of sector favoritism, i.e. MVIS is 30% Institute owned but VLDR is only 20%.

8/6, 8/12 and 8/14?  Interesting why these dates.

Could easily be that the institutions feel MicroVision is over-sold, but it's best to keep in mind that these buys are almost two months after the official inclusion date.  Are they that good at calling the bottom, or, something else?

Just speculating here.  I do that a lot.  Just something to keep in your back pocket.

I predict it will be cancelled

starting Aug. 23rd for any indoor event you have to be either Vaccinated, proof that you have recovered or provide a negative Test

on top of that if you travel to Germany you have to be fully vaccinated - see link and list below

https://www.auswaertiges-amt.de/en/einreiseundaufenthalt/EinreiseUndAufenthalt

Entry from any other country for any purposse (including visits and tourism)  is only possible for fully vaccinated People. The traveller must have received the last vaccination dose that is necessary for full vaccination at least 14 days before the date of travel, and the vaccine the person has received must be among those listed on the website of the Paul Ehrlich Institute. More Information is available on the website of the Federal Ministry of the Interior.

For people not yet vaccinated entry from other countries is only possible in exceptional cases and is conditional on there being an urgent need

---

Germany allows unrestricted entry for residents of the following countries and territories:

Albania
Armenia
Azerbaijan
Australia
Bosnia and Herzegovina
Brunei Darussalam
Canada
Hong Kong
Japan
Jordan
Kosovo
Lebanon
Macao
Moldova
New Zealand
North Maedonia
Qatar
Saudi Arabia
Serbia
Singapore
South Korea
Taiwan
Ukraine

US is not on the list

Edit: also Masks are required everywhere when indoors
