Cilantro. Even if we call it coriandre.
Loved it then got hit by the soap curse . |

Quoted: I absolutely love it. No grassy taste for me. It's a must grow herb for me. It's a staple for marinades. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes |

Caraway seeds in rye bread, kraut, and everything bagels absolutely ruin it for me.

Anise, can't eat anything with it in it. Asaofphidity. Probably spelled that wrong. When I was a child in rural Arkansas they put bags of asaofphidity around a child's to prevent disease. I think it worked because it stunk so bad other kids wouldn't get near you

Love/hate with Cilantro.
I do like it, but the taste/scent just lingers too damn long. Also it sticks to your skin for hours and hours even after washing. |

View Quote I can't argue that point, picking cilantro from my garden will leave the scent on my hands a good while. Fun Fact: A mouth full of fresh picked cilantro will linger longer than you will care for! Don't ask how I know. |

Does anyone like the super-grassy taste of it? Fresh tarragon makes crab/lobster dishes pop man! You've probably eaten and enjoyed it and never knew. Speed This. Tarragon is phenomenal with seafood or mushrooms. Star anise is my least favorite spice. I don't hate it but it has to be used sparingly. My favorite is thyme followed closely by Tarragon. |

My gf really really loves cilantro and puts it on almost everything she cooks.

If you don’t like cilantro, you are dead to me!!!
Whole cardomom seeds hidden in rice from an Indian restaurant, will ruin your meal in a hurry.... |

a lot of folks have that special gene that makes Cilantro less enjoyable. I can enjoy some cilantro in pho style soup....
I am not a big fan of curry/turmeric, but I have enjoyed some good food with those spices in it. |

Anise and fennel are the first two to come to mind. I'm not a fan of tarragon either.

Anise, definitely. I hate licorice and similar foods.
Ive seen a lot of people say they hate cilantro and that is has a very strong, foul taste and odor. I can barely taste or smell it at all. I think some people are just wired a little differently. I'm the same way with celery. Most people I talk to say it is bland with basically no taste or smell. But I have to leave the room if someone is chopping celery nearby. It smells so foul I usually can't stand to be near it. The only way I can eat it is if it's in a soup and has been cooked to total mush. Anything less, and I can't eat it. |

Quoted: Fennel seed. View Quote I've ground it up in spice mixes and the like. I use it on barbecue all the time. But I'd never just eaten a seed until I was leaving an Indian restaurant, and they had some kind of little after-dinner thing you could eat, I guess as a breath freshener or palate cleanser. It had fennel seeds in it. I had to go to the bathroom and get water out of the faucet to wash my mouth out. |

It is obvious that people have different tastes, and. that strong dislikes are just as varied as anything else.
I can't think of any spice/herb that I really dislike, but while I generally really like almost any vegetable and/or fruit, I cannot stand parsnips. When biting into a chunk of parsnip in a stew or soup, it looks like a potato so that is the taste I expect, then I get that nasty tasting parsnip...I even like Brussels sprouts and spinach. |
