Loved Petrocelli and this was the first name I thought of when I read the post title.
Based loosely on F.Lee Bailey and his defense of Cleveland physician accused of killing his wife. Also...same name as beloved Red Sox shortstop. BUT lawyer Petrocelli kept correcting people who pronounced his name wrong " PETROCHELLI NOT PETROSELLI" But Rico pronounced it PETROSELLI!!!! Ok...that's all I got on the subject. |

Ten years or so ago I was watching Perry Mason episodes somewhere and they skipped around on the ones they did have so I decided I wanted to see ALL of the TV episodes. That started a stupid quest.
Some of them were hard to find but I eventually found and have all the Perry Mason TV episodes on video. |

View Quote I didn't have any trouble finding the complete series all from one magnet link at the bay where the pirates sometimes dock their ships. I started watching at the beginning. Season 1 is 39 episodes. Most of the other seasons are 30. Thats a lot of hours of Perry. I been breaking it up with matlock and jessica fletcher. |

Quoted: I like watching matlock more. But he really didn't do too much legal stuff. Just send tyler out to investigate somebody, then get the real killer to confess on the stand in the last 8 minutes of the episode. Perry Mason does actually give legal advice and take into account possession of evidence and guilty knowledge. Plus Perry mason had more episodes as well as 30 movies. He's got Matlock beat on experience. As far as better lawyer, is Perry. As far as more entertaining to watch, its Matlock. He ran for 2 seasons back in the 70s? Everybody who heard of him over here is dead or in a nursing home. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted: I like watching matlock more. But he really didn't do too much legal stuff. Perry Mason whose juries always wore that U-Crane cloak of invisibility.

It was the big city lawyer in the backwards town. It wasn't that good. I'd add more, but the nursing home attendent just started serving the pudding and that goes fast here. |

I enjoyed watching both.
But I'll have to give the nod to Perry. |

I generally don't like lawyer shows because I know too much. But better call saul was very well done.

As a kid I watched enough Perry Mason when I was home sick from school to be a Lawyer.

I was watching a Perry Mason episode this past weekend, and Betty Davis was in the episode. She was at a police station and somehow got involved with a guy arrested. I was waiting for Perry to show up for quite a bit of the show, so I IMDBed that episode and found out Raymond Burr was sick in the hospital for a month or so. Other actors took over the role of the lawyer for those episodes. I couldn't find any explanation of his illness. He did have a cameo or two in a hospital bed talking on the phone to Betty, so he wasn't too ill to be on camera.

Perry Mason was not a lawyer show. It was a detective show with a lawyer as the main character.
