I mean, it's right up his alley. It would be one of the greatest crossovers!

Those two are actually the only shows that I’m currently watching on HiDive.

I’ve kinda lost the thread of where Eminence is going and how we got here - why Rose is acting that way, why Perv Asshat is being his usual jerkoff self (although I did stumble onto some look ahead stuff so I somewhat understand the significance of the stolen ring), what was the whole purpose of the counterfeit money plan, etc. But despite my obvious confusion I’m continuing to watch it.

And Helck has wandered into some unexpected territory where more of the story has been making sense than it originally seemed to - so I am continuing to follow that series as well.

Looks like it might be a slow stretch for interest in the current season with the previous page spanning one month.

For comparison: the page before that spanned one week.

Life’s been kicking my ass still, so haven’t had a lot of downtime to devote to watching stuff, trying to keep up with Slayer and jujutsu at least most of the weeks and started Frieren to see how it is.

I'm enjoying Shangri-la Frontier. It's a VRMMO type anime, a little over the top, but the animation and action are great.

Under Ninja is an interesting story, with a timeline like Pulp Fiction the way it plays out.

Goblin Slayer is well... Goblin Slayer. I enjoyed Season 1 and the movie more, but S2 is good nonetheless.

Berserk of Gluttony is interesting. Typically OP kind of MC, but an enjoyable concept.

My Daughter Left the Nest and Returned an S-Rank Adventurer is on the sweet kind of side. Not overly sweet, and the daughter is kind of annoyingly a daddy's girls. I'm more interest in the background of the former adventurer father Belgrieve's background. Seems like a good due that just wants to help folk.

And for the older stuff, and still on the topic of long and specific titles:

Banished from the Hero's Party, I Decided to Live a Quiet Life in the Countryside is good, and deserves another season in my opinion. It follows a former heroes party member just trying to do his own thing and stay out of the spot light.

Chillin' in My 30s After Getting Fired from the Demon King's Army is along the same vein. And the MC isn't some loser that's afraid of women. (Get some bro) not quite as good as the former above, but enjoyable.

Full Dive: This Ultimate Next-Gen Full Dive RPG Is Even Shittier than Real Life! Really needs a second season. It's another VRMMO type anime, but to me it tops all others in that genre, with Shangri-la Frontier topping it in action and animation. I enjoy it waaaaay more than SAO or .Hack

For any other recommendations, it would help to know your preferred genres. The list can get much longer

ETA: Frieren is my favorite this season. I went and got what I could of the manga because of how much I enjoy it. And it has been 100% accurate to the manga.

It keeps the slow burn going with some more spikes in excitement. It's a very enjoyable story.

ETA 2: Reincarnated as a Sword is one of my favorites as well. Also snagged some of the manga. Fran is best daughter, and I would definitely become a sword to guide her into becoming the strongest black cat to ever adventure if stuck in that same situation.

Thanks for the Shangra-la recommendation, I just binged watched the shit out of it.

You weren't kidding, animation quality is great and I'm stoked it's just an anime about video games and not the played out isekai trope.

Love that show. It's sort of a low key comedy but it's also fun if you take it as a standard Isekai with fan service.  He's sort of a gag character like Saitama, but not to that extent.

From Shadow's POV, about the same as Soros' POV. Break the economy, get rich doing it, use your newfound riches to buy out the losers in the resulting crash.
The girls will understand eventually but be pissed at me initially for breaking their beautiful corporate empire.

From the merchants group and Cult of Diablos' POV, they had to stop Mitso-SevenShaddows from taking over the economy, but I don't think they knew the Shadows were running the operation. The cult got the merchants to start printing money, were ramping up to start counterfeiting it, and got beat to the punch by Shadow and Foxtail.

Shadow and Foxtail cashed in their counterfeit bills for the Merchants' and the Cults' gold, leaving them broke and owing everybody.
Then the Seven Shadows took all the gold from Foxtail's vault and used it to keep their business empire afloat.

Just jumping in to say The Boy and the Heron is 100% worth the watch.

Classic Ghibli film with great voice acting subbed and dubbed, music, and animation.

Yeah - season 1 originally confused me more than anything else - after I started watching season 2 it started making sense to me, to the point where I went back and rewatched and enjoyed season 1, and now I'm expecting good things from season 3.

I read the manga.

They actually do make a completely plausible speed run through the acquisition of materials required to build an Apollo type craft and proper suits. The arc where they build it is like a love letter to the space age. It's pretty cool.

And the plot doesn't matter, it's the getting there that's fun. The ending is...interesting.

Looks like we are also getting more

TSUKIMICHI season 2 - nice
Frieren - Continuing
Shangri-la frontier - Continuing

Glad a couple of my favorites this season are going over 12 episodes

Metallic Rogue - looks interesting

Sengoku Youko - " A high-speed samurai battle fantasy"

The Undead Unwanted Adventurer - trailer kind of gives off vibes like the web webtoon The Skeleton Soldier Failed to Defend the Dungeon

I'm sure I will attempt to watch all, but this list is what I will be prioritizing.

I really enjoyed it, I like the vibe where on the face of if it’s basically family friendly but has that slight hint of dread that comes through

On the subject of YouTube Indy cartoons I really like Helluva boss which is a adults comedy with a pretty healthy dose of action/emotion

And there’s a pilot call Lackadaisy it’s in prohibition era America with a pretty big shoot out featured ….. even a cat-girl with a B.A.R! Lol

Holy shit I remember that comic. I thought the art looked familiar. Been years since I followed any of them. SNAFU comics, VG Cats, Girl Genius.... I used to be pretty active on the MegaTokyo forums 15 years ago. Fred is still making the comic, so I guess there's still a following.

I was thrilled when I found out that Tsukimichi was getting another season. Any idea if they'll be doing a SimulDub?

Supposedly we're getting another season of Spirit Chronicles next year, too! I'm really looking forward to that one.

Iirc the light novels went into depth about the side effects of skills and classes on every day lives.  Skill definitely impact each characters lives, you are essentially fscked from birth if you have a bad class like thief or a skill like berserker.  The MC is lucky in that his class allowed him to accumulate a wide range of skill so they fuck with his head and life less than others.  I wonder if the anime will follow this plot line or stick to happy slice of life romance.

The Hero got royally fucked over with her skill's side effects in my opinion.

I've read some of the manga, and it's a messed up way to use a healer's abilities, though the concept (to a lesser degree) does pop up in other stories.

Speaking of Chainsaw Man: does anyone here still read the manga? Has it gotten any better lately?

TBH, I found pretty much everything in the “epilogue” to be fairly boring.  It felt like the writer wrapped the story up (and wrapped it up well, IMO), but then they threw a much of money at him to make more so he did.

I've been reading it in spurts at a time, and keep flip flopping between it being crap, and maybe being good. I think I know what he's trying to do and I respect him for it, but that doesn't make it great. It still has its moments though.

So apparently WIT studio is redoing One Piece starting from the very beginning

Redoing a series that hasn’t even ended yet? Like Hunter x Hunter?

I started the Impel Down Arc.  I’m about 10 episodes in.  It’s an interesting premise, but it still feels like they take one episode worth of material and stretch it out to three episodes.

That's always a completely fare criticism of the anime, which is why the remake is exciting I am caught up with the manga and we are definitely closing in on the end id say we are easily 80-90% over so the story should be wrapped up way before WIT gets even close to catching up

I don't wanna get to hopeful but I'd love to see a tight 700-800ish episode version of the entire with better animation one day

I've read some of the Chained Solider manga

Definitely has the potential for a fun ecchi show

For some reason this fight scene popped into my brain today, so now it gets to be in yours:

OLS Clips: The Outlaw Star vs. The Torarato (1080p)

And goddamn this animation is good, no CG, the reaction jets.

They don't make 'em like they used to.

And poor Jim, he ain't gonna meet that girl and her cats again.

You weren't kidding, animation quality is great and I'm stoked it's just an anime about video games and not the played out isekai trope.
