Neither side can quickly fix the problems which they share equal responsibility for creating.

Trump ran up more debt than any president in history, and he oversaw the largest shift towards socialism in this nation since FDR. He literally called for negative interest rates.

Originator? No. I’m just mostly chuckling at posters arguing his policies are a fix, with no comprehension that the economic policies under him were the problem.

The problem is that Trump has already proven from the 2016 campaign that say one thing and do the exact opposite.   Not look at a campaign promise as being "flexible", but do the outright opposite.  He says what you want to hear, but governs like a Democrat unless he is FORCED to toe the GOP line by "RINOs" (such as being restricted by McConnell to certain choices for USSC vacancies).  Biden campaigns left and governs left.  So going by words, of course Trump sounds better.  Unfortunately, going by Trump's statements and actions once in office, he is at best only fractionally more conservative than Biden.

As has been pointed out, this is a historic chance to choose between two candidates who each have a Presidential record.  Trump's words do not reflect his actions, and some of us vote based on actions, not words.

And trump put people like Larry fink & Bob Iger on his advisory board, and hired Wilbur Ross

https://trumpwhitehouse.archives.gov/briefings-statements/remarks-president-trump-strategy-policy-forum/

I see we have Larry here — where is Larry Fink?  Larry did a great job for me.  He managed a lot of my money, and, I have to tell you, he got me great returns last year.  (Laughter.)  And then they go crazy — they’ll meet very smart people that made money, why don’t you let other people to run the economy?  I said, no, we have to get the right people.  And the people that voted for me understand that, and that’s what they want.

So when I campaigned for office, I promised the American people that I’d ask for our country’s best and brightest, and we have that.  Wilbur is representing us as secretary.  I tell you, you’re going to be so great — Secretary of Commerce, Wilbur Ross.  In fact, Carl Icahn got called up, and he goes, I hear you got Wilbur.

Everybody calls him Wilbur.  I’ve never heard him called — what, we just know him as Wilbur, right?  We’ve got the great Jack Welch, the legendary Jack Welch.  We appreciate him.

I would think a congressman shedding light on the real corruption in our government would be consequential for all Americans… yet here we are.

We saw the same thing when RP was on the debate stage, a true intellectual to say the least that no one could debate. And the washed masses pushed him aside for more bull shit rhetoric & entertainment. It’s quite astonishing really.

One is marginally better than the other no doubt.  That doesn’t change the fact that under both the government will grow and the BoR will continue to erode.  It’s a game where you lose no matter what.

Not at all, a total swamp cleaner:

Swamp "Best People" hired by Trump (this is the short list)

1) Jared Kushner/Trump son-in-law, Soros business partner (w/his anti-2A donating brother) to the tune of $500,000,000. A regular guest at Soros' home with "beautiful Ivanka". He was appointed highest presidential adviser for 4 years. Helped get Israel $360 billion dollar check for Trump to sign at lightning speed (first year).

2) Bill Barr - attorney general/highest law enforcement position. He was George HW Bush's AG and drafted the domestic assault weapons ban and mag ban for Bush's crime bill in 1991 which ended up part of Clinton's Brady Bill and ban. He publicly stated he was in favor of a permanent mag ban as well as Bush's 1989 AW import ban.

3) democrat General Mattis. 'Nuff said?

4) globalist Rothschild banking head Wilber Ross. Rothschild bank bailed the Trump corporation out of failure in the early 1990s and Wilber was "da man". His reward was Commerce Secretary.

5) at least 6 Goldman Sachs banking corporate heads to White House advisory positions. (And Ted Cruz would be "owned" by GS because his wife had a position there according to Trump - LOL!)

6) Chuck Canteberry picked by Trump to head BATFE. When pro-2A groups reached out to Trump's office with info that Canteberry was anti-gun, Trump pushed for him anyway. Canteberry had so much anti-2A history that even RINO Republicans pushed so that he would not be appointed.

7) Trump left ALL Obama appointees at ATF for his entire term.

8) Appointed openly homosexual Richard Grinnel as ambassador to Germany and then continues to use him to shove the gay agenda down the throats of Republican party by hosting and promoting the gay Log Cabin Republican events at Mar-a-Lago. (Gee, Trump still hasn't sprung $300 for a conference room at Holiday Inn for the first Second Amendment Coalition meeting - still holding on to that supporter-donated $250 million to Stop the Steal).

9) Who was the "best people" in charge of the Second Amendment Coalition??? Big promise two months before the election with promises by Don Sr. and Jr. yet the the coalition page taken down from Trump's website months after he is sworn into office. Firearms industry people chosen to be involved NEVER heard from the Trumps again.

10) Leftwing medical dictator Fauchi left in charge (threatened doctors with loss of license of the prescribed Hydroxiclorequine or Ivermectin which saved lives). "Nobody better try and hurt him." - DJT

11) Fatass anti-2A NJ values Chris Christie was a Trump bestie early on.

12) General Mark Miley who is so left-leaning that many Trumpers think Biden appointed him - LOL!

"buH, deY aLL tUrNEd oN TrUMp..."

Sure, he will drain the swamp next time...

Nobody said anything about her.

Deflection, denial, and excuses.

Like another poster said, it’s nothing but a 2 party race to the bottom these days. Our electorate has proven itself incapable of choosing its own representation and our entire primary system is well past due for a complete overhaul.

Keep up Corky.  The discussion has moved beyond your pathetic attempt to shape a MSNBC narrative.

So Trump’s actions have no part in rampant inflation?

So are prices going to go down if any particular party takes the presidency?

I’ll wait for a response that isn’t retarded as fuck.

I have returned to the thread to provide just that. Thank you for waiting.

Yes, prices for many durable goods can and will go down with a republican president in office. The reason is that the price of everything in this country is dependent on the cost of oil. There are many actions a president can take that can have an effect on oil prices. Some take time, others can be done instantly with a phone call or the stroke of a pen. Yes, inflation is bad and much damage has already been done, but if the screws were backed off JUST A LITTLE, watch and see what the economy would do. Imagine if the cost of gasoline or diesel dropped one whole dollar or more per gallon, what vast effects that would have nationally and even globally. We just need someone to pull the strangling hands off of our neck - and yes, that someone could be President Trump.

I don’t think Trump can just wave his finger and lower the price of oil. Not overnight and not long term. Oil and gas prices fluctuate for many reasons and most of them are not within a presidents control.

Will to prices be lower under a president with an R by his name? Usually that is the case but it never holds. The prices are manipulated to make people rich not so you can have cheaper eggs.

Besides. What happens to the labor cost? Those people who are being paid more to show up now because they have to pay more for goods and services are not going to accept a cut in pay because gas is cheaper. You start cutting wages people walk off the job.

The sooner people understand that economics isn’t something can be controlled, the better off we’ll be.

Remind us how much money the gov printed in 2020 and if the supply chains were shut down + straight socialist ubi from the irs to your bank account. Then use common sense and tell us did Biden create his own policies like that or just extend the trump policies?

Bingo. I get why Trump appeals to people, and I loathe Biden and his team. But Trump is literally responsible for the inflation we're experiencing. Biden is too, of course. The idea that Trump is going to fix it, absent some specific plan, is silly. Reagan shut down the inflation of the Carter era (in fairness, Carter did the same thing, but too late to matter), and he did so knowing he would cause unemployment as a side effect. But he ripped the bandaid off and it all worked out. I cannot imagine Trump having the iron will it would take to do that.
