My Ruger Vaquero Friends of NRA model (.44-40 caliber / 6.5” barrel) purchased at a NRA dinner event in 1996 or 1997. It is 1 of 550 built specifically for FoNRA events and the only Vaquero model made with that barrel length.

The walnut handles were my attempt at making grips similar in appearance to the Colt SAA “one piece” grips. The small hole on the left side allows a hex wrench access to a captured screw that threads into a boss attached to the right side grip panel. (I still have the original NRA grips). The Bullseye ejector rod head is a replacement (and I still have that original part also),

Yes, I've shot it a good bit but it was too much fun to leave it in the gun case (I can say that about most all the guns I own)
