Any update from those who have submitted a RMA form?

Just got my email this morning that said my refund has been approved. Says to send back the form and my xps-2 and they will refund me msrp + 15$ shipping. I have no idea how long it will take to get the refund though.

When did you send it?

I put mine in Sat night and haven't heard anything. Seems there have been a few people who filed after me who have their RMAs approved.

Wondering where my approval is as well. Submitted mine Sunday and saw people submit yesterday getting approved same day.

Looks like I spoke prematurely, just got a refund approval email.

One anecdote is certainly more reliable than the information from the manufacturer of the optic.

I'm betting it would rival the pic Mark LaRue posted of all the broken ARMS mounts he took in trade toward LaRue mounts way back when.

Yeah, but people hated LaRue for that.

I submitted my request yesterday morning around 8:30a.

Got my approval e-mail back at 1:45p yesterday afternoon for a full refund plus $15 to cover the shipping.  I'm sending back a 512 that I bought in 2007 for $470.

It goes out in the mail today. They did not say how long it would take to process the refund... the wording in the email was "as soon as possible".

Yeah I'm kinda worried about that too...Does ASAP mean they'll wait til they get all of them back and then refund or does it mean they'll wait til enough of them come back that the corporate law team says the company now has enough claims against it to file bankruptcy and leave everybody who bought one holding the bag .

I am glad to see some solid proof to back up the anecdotal evidence we have had for years.

I hope the Gov gets all their money and then some. Who knows how many troops have died or been ineffective due to their sights being off by 20 inches at 100 yards! Complete garbage.

As long as it's in a mount that aligns it with your new optic, you're good to go. And it doesn't have to be perfectly aligned either. If it's close it will still be spot on. I'm sure someone smarter than I can explain why iy works. I just know it does.

Also supposedly the magnifiers are not included per what Larry Vickers has posted to his Facebook page but I've also seen people posting they've submitted and received approvals for EOTech/magnifier combos.

So, long story short, maybe.

I had a Vortex 3x behind my XPS 3-2, and it also worked with my Vortex Sparc (can't remember if I ever put it behind my Aimpoint Pro).

I submitted the form last night. Just waiting on the RMA approval to send back.

Since I've never used my 512 in cold weather and I use this on a patrol rifle, I'm not taking chances. I will use the refund $$$ to get a Aimpoint Pro.

This should have been in a tech forum in order to stop the typical GD couch commandos from turning this into a deep circus.

Which is why I am debating filing for a refund. Part of me thinks if they could fix it, they already would have.

I have a may 2001 model that I filed for refund on....worked perfectly for 14 years.  But I don't trust it.  Especially when it still turns on but might have a POI shift due to change in temps, which are common in the west.

There was a guy I worked with years ago who had a pair of hiking boots, wore them until they had holes in them, then took them back to REI back when they had a no-questions-asked return policy. Got a full refund, and bought some new boots. At a certain point, you have to admit you got your money's worth and are just gaming the system.

How about you take the recently popular moral higrounding bullshit and stuff it up your ass?

What do you get about:

It still works.

I don't trust it to hold zero in adverse conditions.

It's not like your boots example because the thing isn't worn out....as it still works like New....it's just a faulty design even if it works.

No go sit and spin, and I'm not your guy.

Talk that way to my face some day and we can settle it, otherwise stfu

Oh, and I'm not violating any moral standard of eotech says they will take it back and refund my money...they are offering.  Im not taking advantage just because I get a benefit.....no more than if someone offers me a cake and I take them up on it.  I didn't lie, I told them the truth on my rma form.  If they deny it, that's fine.  If they take it, I didn't deceive them and no moral standard has been violated.

That is exactly the kind of moral highgrounding shit I'm talking about.  If I lied, youd have a point.  Since I didnt, stop while you are ahead, boot.

Go to the EOTech support page, click on the Return Authorization link, fill out the form, in the failure and comments section state you are requesting a full refund for whatever you paid for it or up to MSRP if you don't remember.

Nice veiled threats, and you call me a boot? LOL, okay, guy. Seems you have a temper issue, as well.

Like it or not, you had yours for 14 years without issue, and now you're taking advantage of the situation. You got your money's worth.

Nobody is denying the issue or fault with Eotech, though some of you cannot separate the fact that some people, like myself, who have not had an issue, do not feel it is morally correct to jump on the refund just to upgrade just because the opportunity presented itself.

My point of contention is with people like you, obviously exploiting the situation. They may be offering, but ask yourself (if you're capable of objective thought), how are you NOT taking advantage of the situation?

I'll wait for your next threat, ad hominem, and rationalization.

Here's what I sent them for my 2008 552. It was something someone else had sent them and I tweaked it to fit me.

Recent findings have indicated that high humidity and temperature fluctuations result in deviations from a battle zero and POA/POI discrepancies. I have been using this as an optic on a home defense and vehicle ready rifle, I no longer trust the reliability of this optic with my safety/life. I am requesting a refund for my original purchase price of $608.83 (local purchase price with tax). Thank you.

I'm sure there are a ton of people out there driving Aspens, Durangos, Dakotas, Grand Cherokees, and Liberties with no problems either. Fact is Chrysler is buying those back above market value due to a safety issue.

L3 is doing the same thing, albeit in a stealthier manner because they haven't been ordered to by a legal authority.

Is every owner owner of those vehicles going to sell them back? I doubt it. But the fact is both Chrysler and L3 are admitting inherent flaws in their designs and giving owners of those products a method to correct the situation without punitive court costs.

If you like your Chrysler, keep driving it. If you like your EOTech, keep shooting with it. But when the people that made it are telling me, "Yeah, we fucked them up," I'm going to listen.

ETA: This was just posted in the sister thread in the tech forums:

my defenseless clone will have to go live with the misfits for a while till I can get something else.
ETA had receipt and all paperwork

Guy bought a brand new 553, told L3 he'd like to keep it if they don't think it will have issues, they approve an RMA for him. Should tell you all you need to know.

Go white knight else where. Your boot example is not even in the same ballpark. I have a exps3 and would be pissed if I only got 14 years of use out of it. I buy my guns and optics to last generations. I was a huge eotech fan and now I'm on the fence whether to dump it. If it wasn't on my range gun I would have sent it back already. Now leave this thread before you get it locked. It is a valuable resource for our members.

What does that have to do with the current eotech problems. Can a moderate ban this guy from this thread?  I don't want it locked.

Speaking of white knighting... And when did you serve?

Right, because when people offer differing opinions or views from the status quo (apparently) it's okay to threaten them, use ad hominem attacks, and get "called out" as a boot by somebody who has never even served, but it is not okay to offer differing opinions. Got it.

So are they offering repairs or just refunds?

Sorry if it's been covered.

PS: What's the MSRP on a 552?

Looks like refunds only. I don't think they know how to fix them permanently.

It's cool. I used the report for the first time ever. You called out another member first as a scam artist and then was asked by multiple people to stop trashing this thread.

Just dropped mine off at the post office, 2 day priority mail.

We'll see how quick the refund comes back.

Lol... white knighting. I didn't even report being threatened.

And, I never said he was a scam artist, nice jump in (pseudo) logic there. I said it was an exploitation of the situation. Nice try though.
