Now they are threatening to arrest anyone refusing to evacuate. Why anyone would still be there is a mystery to me, but apparently there are some stubborn folks about. |

Looks like some major changes happened at the summit overnight. More collapse with that 5.4 eq/eruption yesterday.

I mean it is a crater, there is a massive superhighway of lava tubes under everything on that side of the island.
Thanks for that second pic. I bet lava is pumping into the bottom of that lake or the water that feeds that lake. |

found a stream that was looking at the plume from Green lake.

While scanning the recommended videos on Youtube I spotted a vid that claims in the title that this whole eruption is caused by the geothermal plant.
 I didn't take one for the team and watch it. I like my IQ just where it is.

It's a bit hard to see but this is the one pic I've found that shows the lake in contact with the lava. It just snaked around the side of crater wall to get to it with a thin finger of a flow. It was taken at 1:30pm Hawaii time. 4:30pm Pacific.
 By now(10pm Hawaii time) the 400 foot deep lake is certainly dried up and filled by lava. Probably has been for a few hours. When the plume stopped ... that likely was when the water was no more. |
