Quoted: Hmm, was going to buy the long reach/low profile one this week but may hold off for this one. Would still need to get an extension for that one to lift high enough. View Quote The long reach low profile is perfect my BRZ. I ordered a box of hockey pucks from Amazon to use as sacrificial pads for that and the pinch welds over jack stands. |

May not be quite tall enough but the sawhorse could be used for a hanging target stand.

A coworker of mine is a Snap-On fanatic, has a ton of their tools, but buys a lot of the Icon stuff to use at work since we occasionally leave tools behind on a ship. Years back we were working on a shipyard project and were packing up to leave for the day. As we were going down the gangway he realized he left a Snap-On ratchet behind, we turned around to get it, only 5 minutes later the $150 ratchet was gone.
The Icon tools compare pretty favorably to the Snap-On tools that they're generally copying. |

Quoted: I've thought about buying the battery powered stapler for targets a million times and each time talked myself out of it because stapling is totally trivial with a manual stapler. Shit, even an office desk stapler. Just seems like something to forget batteries to. Those lanterns are handy and the sawhorses look decent. I was thumbing through a old woodworking magazine from 1997 while it was raining this morning, and I ran across this blast from the past.

I need to reupholster 8 dining chairs. Not sure I want the cordless 4V.
Any recommendations for a stapler for this task? I have a hand stapler but could make job easier with pneumatic or electric or? |

Based upon videos on Youtube I bought one of their 27 gallon Fortress compressors. I've been very happy with it so far except for finding one potential serious flaw. The drain is not actually on the lower most part of the tank. It's off to the side for convenient access but that means it leaves at least a couple inches of water undrained UNLESS you tip the whole damn thing to the side with the valve open. I only found this after months of use in a humid garage and now any water that drains is very rust colored. I'm thinking of corresponding with them about it. Kinda troubling to know you have a ticking bomb in there.

On compressors that I've had, I screw a 90° fitting into the tank and run a length of plastic air line out to a valve that's easy to reach. I've also had a rusted out tank let go on me. It was a little exciting and made a rusty water mess inside the service truck but it didn't hurt anything besides the tank. It basically just had a crack in the weakest spot in the rust. |

Quoted: How long did the failure take? I just bought it new this past March. Figure I'll get at least a few years use before it explodes. View Quote The compressor was in a service truck that I had moved into and I think the truck was 5-6 years old when I got it. The compressor probably came new with the truck. Also the drain was stripped out and wouldn't drain when I got it, so who knows how long it went without being drained before I fixed it. If I had to guess, you'll probably wear something out on the compressor before the tank fails, especially if you're taking the effort to tip it and drain it every so often. Like I said though, every tank will rust inside because they can't paint the inside. Every brand new compressor I've had has spit out rusty water when it gets drained pretty quickly. |
