If they can be tracked by radar over distances when they reach Ukraine territory why couldn't pursuit drones intercept and down them?

This, it is probably why recently we are seeing Ukrainian trainer aircraft, helicopters, and ground anti aircraft gun crews getting to where they can intercept them and shoot them down.  Last ditch you would use a Manpad or SAM system if no one can get to the drone in time.

Is this an accurate translation?  "The enemy has been defeated"  doesn't sound right.

It's probably something like "dealt a defeat".

It is not on his Telegram.

Now, the liquidation of the consequences of the Russian strike is ongoing throughout the country. It was one of the biggest hits - combined. More than a hundred rockets of various types and about a hundred "shaheeds". And like most previous Russian strikes, this one is just as dastardly, targeting critical civilian infrastructure. In most of our regions, from Kharkiv Oblast and Kyiv to Odesa and western regions. Unfortunately, there are casualties. My condolences to all relatives and friends. There are dozens of wounded people - everyone is being given the necessary help.

A lot of damage in energy. But wherever there is a power outage, restoration work is already underway. Repair teams will work around the clock. Electricity - we will return it.

Putin is not deceiving himself: he is a sick creature - everyone has understood it for a long time. But it is also clear: he can only do what the world allows him to do. Weakness, inadequacy of decisions in response feeds terror. And each leader, each of our partners knows what strong decisions are needed to end this whole war, and to end it justly. There cannot be long-range restrictions in Ukraine, when terrorists do not have such restrictions. Defenders of life cannot have restrictions on weapons, when Russia uses both its own weapons of all types, and "shahedas", and ballistics from North Korea. America, Britain, France, other partners have the power to help us stop terror. Solutions are needed.

This isn't surprising at all.

The Ukranians said they have a large stockpile of Tochka-U missiles they can refurb. This was in late 2022 or early 2023 when they ran out of Tochkas the first time.

I do remember them saying that as well.  But it is surprising they have been able to refurb them and they haven't been destroyed by Russian attacks.  I think Malcontent forgot or did not know about the refurbishment program Ukraine instituted.

🇷🇺🇺🇦 Ukrainian UAV strikes on Russian regions

Last night, as Russian forces prepared to launcg massive strikes on enemy targets, Ukrainian units carried out another drone launch on the rear regions of Russia. According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, a total of 22 drones were intercepted over eight regions.

▪️This time, the main strike was launched on Saratov region, where the residential complex Volga Sky in Saratov and a multi-story building in the center of Engels were attacked. Four civilians were injured, and one woman was hospitalized in serious condition.

The most likely target of the enemy was the airbase of strategic aviation in Engels - it had already been subjected to attacks by Ukrainian drones, which flew at a low enough altitude to minimize the possibility of detection.

Chinese businesses eye win-win cooperation with Russia — company head
To boost trade and economic cooperation the Chinese side wants to work on projects of the One Belt One Road initiative together, Lanli Qingdao Guo Xiaowei noted

BEIJING, August 26. /TASS/. Chinese companies seek to promote mutually beneficial win-win cooperation with Russia by tapping into China's huge market and Russia’s rich resource base, director general of the international trade company Lanli Qingdao Guo Xiaowei told TASS.

"An integrated comprehensive pattern of supplies in the area of purchases, transportation and marketing is ensured," he said. "China has a large market, while Russia has rich resources to ensure mutual benefit and a win-win situation in cooperation between China and Russia," the official added.

To boost trade and economic cooperation the Chinese side wants to work on projects of the One Belt One Road initiative together, he noted. And in order to reduce costs in many Chinese cities modern warehouses are being constructed, while for ensuring uninterrupted supplies professional teams work that coordinate actions both with Russia and with Central Asian countries, director general said.

Imports of Russian agriculture products to China are growing fast, he stressed. In particular, his company boosted supplies of sugarbeet pulp used as nutritious feedstuff for horses and cattle from Russia, up to 60 railway trains, which accounts for around 20% of all Chinese supplies, Guo Xiaowei said, adding that the supplier plans to reach the 60% level in foreseeable future.

Considering the current situation, the company is expected to gain decent positions in the Sino-Russian trade soon, he said, adding that Lanli Qingdao will boost import of high-quality agriculture products from Russia for the Chinese consumer to get "healthy, nutritious, safe and reliable food products."

North Korea has released pictures of them apparently testing new drones that look suspiciously like the Iranian Omid (a copy of the Israeli Harop) and the Lancet, probably the Iranian copy. Assuming this is real, this would be the first evidence of technology transfer to the North Koreans since they began providing assistance to Russia. I think this might be a cheeky way for the Russians to transfer weapons and technology - plausible deniability and saying it was actually just the Iranians, who have a long-standing relationship with the Norks. I don't think this is necessarily a paradigm shift, but drones are significantly cheaper than the missiles the North Koreans continue to pump out. In a potential war with South Korea, the North Koreans would use these as a cheaper, additional option for attempting to overwhelm South Korean air defenses. Drones could be part of a strike package against high value targets like bases, airfields, fuel depots, ammunition dumps, etc. with the hope that some get through during the confusion whilst wasting air defense munitions that could be otherwise spent other targets like cruise missiles and ballistic missiles.

It’s a two way street.

For sure, and to be honest, the North Koreans were never going to largely rely on a missile barrage. Their entire game is artillery. There are thousands of guns pointed at Seoul that, while certainly shooting ammunition of highly questionable quality, will be just as impossible to intercept. I also highly doubt that the Norks have the data infrastructure and capital necessitated to really bring a force of drones to bear. I'll also just kind of short circuit the discussion entirely by saying that the Norks have dozens of nukes (maybe close to 60 now?), and only a small percentage of them have to work. If memory serves, they also have weaponized anthrax and small pox, plus a ton of Sarin and VX. The US/ROK dread the thought of a war and have since the last one ended, because renewed hostilities there have the potential to get really nasty, really quick.

Germany foils Russian drone attack attempt on NATO's airbase

Russia had plans to execute a sabotage operation using drones at a NATO airbase located in Geilenkirchen, Germany, according to German intelligence sources cited by Deutsche Presse-Agentur (DPA). This NATO facility, nestled in North Rhine-Westphalia, was targeted, raising serious international security concerns.

Last week, NATO's Geilenkirchen-Teveren airbase was put on "Charlie" status, the second highest level of combat readiness, due to a precautionary measure following warnings from the U.S. Secret Service about a potential attack. Intelligence indicated signs of an upcoming drone offensive on the base.

For undisclosed reasons, Russia retracted its plan. As a result, security measures were reduced to "Bravo+" on Friday.

Sources from German intelligence confirmed that serious directives were received from the foreign intelligence service indicating "preparatory actions for a probable Russian sabotage against the NATO base, involving the use of drones."

Geilenkirchen is home to 14 Boeing E-3A Airborne Warning & Control System (AWACS) aircraft, equipped with long-range radar and sensors capable of detecting aerial and surface targets over vast distances. An E-3A aircraft can operate at altitudes of 9,150 meters, covering a surveillance area exceeding 300,000 square kilometers.

Interesting. That lancet seemed to have little effect on the tank since the tank drives up a bit and there is no fire. Possibly everyone but the driver were killed or wounded. maybe the driver too but he managed to lurch forward a few feet.

Hopefully just a mobility kill and the UA blew it up themselves and kept moving forward.

Don't worry about it!  I'm on at least three Jihadi kill lists (that I know of), and I expect that Cuba and Venezuela under their current regimes will never be on my travel itinerary for Reasons. You get used to it after awhile; embrace a healthy level of paranoia, get used to regularly checking the undercarriage of your truck, and hopefully you won't have to someday cap the "utility contractors" who are casing you compound like the cat up in North Carolina!

Everyone is going to be sick and tired of the uselessness of the U.S. during wartime.

At this point Russia and China (and Iran for that matter) can just run around and do whatever they want... Sure the little guy might a get a missile/bomb here and there but they will never be touched and they know it.

lol, no offense to our Norwegian friends of course, but it opens up an opportunity for other European defense companies to make a profit by selling something with a similar capability.  At least until we are mass producing these.

The 68th EWS is an Air Force center of Electronic Warfare excellence, focused on increasing the lethality and survivability of the U.S. and its strategic partners by developing, testing and delivering full-spectrum Electromagnetic Warfare support.

Both Ukraine and Russia’s militaries heavily rely on unfettered access to the electromagnetic spectrum to achieve commander objectives and both sides have continuously engaged in EW through techniques such as jamming and spoofing throughout the war to achieve spectrum superiority.

With the third-party transfer of F-16s by Denmark, Norway and the Netherlands to Ukraine, another EW capability is joining the fight for Ukraine.

To effectively integrate the F-16 into the Ukrainian Air Force, its EW subsystems required reprogramming to be effective against evolving Russian threats in the spectrum. The 68th EWS took this challenge head-on given the urgent priority it represents to the U.S. and our partners.

The problem set the 68th EWS faced was two-fold: the system used on the soon-to-be delivered F-16s is one that the U.S. doesn’t possess in its inventory and the timeline needed to optimize these EW systems to meet the delivery date of the aircraft.

“Most reprogramming centers would have said ‘no way’ when approaching this challenge; it’s uncharted policy,” said the 68th EWS chief engineer. “We looked at each other and we said, ‘If not us, then who? We’re the best people to do this.’”

The 68th EWS assembled a dedicated team comprised of a mixture of seasoned experts and bright, young engineers to approach the reprograming challenge. Their first task was to understand the unfamiliar EW system and how to reprogram it.

Relying on data provided by Denmark and Norway, then adapting new processes and approaches to the usual process, the team was able to understand the system and start their work.

After understanding the system, the 68th EWS deviated again from normal methods and sent its members overseas to a partner-nation lab to collaboratively develop and test the system alongside coalition teammates.

“This is not our standard operating procedure,” said the 68th EWS director. “The fact that the team was able to figure out the system in two weeks, go in country with a partner to develop a best-ever mission data file is unheard of and is thanks to the talent here in the squadron and the wing.”

By working alongside partner nations, the 68th EWS was able to test and verify the unique elements required by the Ukrainians and even improve the reprogramming processes by all parties.

“Without combining efforts, this would not have been possible,” said the 68th EWS lead equipment specialist. “Working together as peers on a project is the only reason this happened.”

With Ukraine now being onboarded as an official foreign military sales case for the 68th EWS, the unit will provide reprogramming capabilities based on feedback from the Ukrainians. Traditionally, feedback from FMS cases is derived from training environments; this case will provide combat-tested data to improve capabilities.

The 68th EWS hopes to soon add Ukraine to its portfolio, bringing the number of partner nations it supports to 31, furthering the ability of the U.S. and its allies to fight in side-by-side in the spectrum.

“When you’re talking about a near-peer conflict, you need all of your coalition partners to operate with the same playbook so you can achieve spectrum dominance,” said the 68th EWS director. “One F-16 with a reprogrammed pod won’t achieve air dominance alone, but it may give you a pocket of air superiority for a moment’s time to achieve an objective that has strategic importance and impact.”

May become the new "Switzerland": great weapons that are NOT worth the hassle. Buy almost as good somewhere else without the bullshit political restrictions, headaches and handcuffs. "nope, can't use it there either, sorry".
