And me and my wife.  We are a bit south of Cancun now until July 9th. Last few days have been spectacular.

The combination to my gun safe is ****. Help yourselves boys.

I've already informed the resort staff that my safe space will be in the liquor bunker.

Stay safe Matt. Sorry to say that I drank all of the liquor in the bunker. At least I still feel like I did.

Here's a pic of what one part of the beach there looked like last week. Mrs. pj is on the first bali bed. Hope the beach doesn't get cleaned-out.

Wife is from St. Vincent.  FIL lives there and last message from him was roof was starting to peal

That was around 1pm. We assume telecommunications are down as the whole scattered family is quiet right now (and they are not a quiet group). Beryl was a mean little bitch.

Huzzah. Comms are back and roof is still (mostly) intact. The roof seperated from wall a bit but sounds like things held together in the end.

Today through and into Thursday is going to be beautiful. Sometime Thursday the wind arrives and Friday the hurricane arrives.  We are just outside the northern boundary of the cone projection. Highest forecast winds were 100 mph but I don't know how far out that extends.

Anything fun happens I will take pictures and post in this thread. Probably nothing too exciting will happen here.

Right now the stress is off the chart and the bull just got put back in the pen.

I hope the damage and injuries are light elsewhere.

That is a nasty bitch. Luckily in mostly open waters and expected to weaken before a potential landfall into the Yucatan.

I do not know why hurricane track forecasts beyond 3 days are even made.

These long range forecasts prove one thing and that is current human knowledge and understanding of the weather are woefully inadequate to be making long range hurricane tracks.

Look at this mess.  Anywhere from Honduras to Louisana? Little better than worthless speculation

A pox on your house for saying that.

Florida got hit by 4 or 5 landfalling hurricanes that year.

We just found out that a close friend of my wife’s (college, and after college roommate) is in Jamaica.  They couldn’t get out in advance of the storm. Apparently they are staying in some house right on/near the water.  Details are slim at the moment.

Son is supposed to fly to Roatán on the 17th for work.  Him and our DIL are scheduled to be there for a week.  Two days of work, then the remaining time spent diving.  We'll be keeping an eye on the tropics.
