Many units do use the Larue mount. When I was with 1st Tks in AFG every M4 had a Larue on it. The guys from 2nd Tks had the standard Trijicon mount.

Picked up a complete BCM A4 rifle from a guy locally this morning. Pretty sweet. Haven't gotten a chance to mess with it much, but it has a look and feel all it's own when you're used to 14.5-16" carbines.

The 552 was issued as the SL3 to the M4A1 CQBW suite 2nd RADBN issue a lot of 553 back in 07-08 but the 552s were real popular with for longest times when units could buy sights without SYSCOM getting involved, with 24 MEU and 1/7 almost buying 1 per Marine in the 06 time frame. |

To what are you referring when you say A1 profile? M4A1? I would almost wager that it is M4A1 profile since FN makes the M4A1 for the military. |

Is that carried by any of the services? Back in 2002, I carried the M7 Bayonet. Don't know if they carry something different now. What branch were you? I believe that is a USMC bayonet and the M9 is the issue Army bayonet. A lot of early stuff was still being issued in '02 so I wouldn't be surprised if the M7 was issued to you despite being replaced. Bayonets aren't really considered very important these days. The marines who fought in Fallujah will say otherwise |
