I'm not sure where to post these pics but this is my Saiga .308 long barrel which I converted into a Dragunov/PSL replica. This was my first conversion and I did all the work on it except for threading the barrel.

I just picked up my first gun today. It is an NDS-3 build with a Romanian G kit. The rifle was build in Fresno California not too long ago, and only had 30 rounds put through it. Cost me $700 + $45 or so with DROS, PPT and a gun lock. It came with the 10/30 magazine and 200 rounds of Wolf Gold 7.62x39. Not a bad price for today's standards, especially in CA.
It is in a California legal configuration. It has to have the silly looking Monster Man Grip for me to have a detachable magazine. This beats the fixed magazine configurations that the Raddlock ect. offer, at least for me. It is not on the banned list, and has no banned features, therefore it is an off list semi automatic CA legal rifle. It is 100% the same as a normal AKM clone aside from the grip. I have not fired it yet, but will soon. SAR-1 reverted with bayo lug gas block, threaded muzzle, Romy side folder. G2 fcg and TapCo grip keeps her compliant. I did put a standard Romanian laminated forearm on her...lets you get down low for cover. Finish is parkerized with envirotech coating. Work done by IGF. And yes, only a crazy man will spend 5 bills on a 300 dollar rifle but she goes bang every time and will hit a 4" plate at 200 yds every time. I've never benched her for MOA but WTF it's an AKM!

Here is a pic of my WASR10 that is almost done. I just sent a PG to nitroforblood to get finished to match the rest of the wood he did for me. It turned out really good I think but the black PG is driving me insane.

Had to put my 2 cents worth in. I never would have believed a Romy G kit could look this good until I actually bought one. Everything is nice and tight. First few hundred rounds whistled through without the slightest problem and the sights were pretty close too. I barely had to move them. I had no problem shooting offhand entire mags into an 8" target at 100 yards. And, apparently, all the hype I heard about the Tapco G2 triggers was lived up too. Couldn't believe how much smoother that was than my other AK's. |

I don't like Raddlocks or bullet bottons. But if you're into those,I would suggest getting the solar tactical one. Then get these for your magazines. This will enable you to do those quick style magazine reloads (where you hit the mag release with another mag) and reload just as fast as without a mag lock. You will also be able to use a pistol grip ect. I bought some mag locks off the guy who made them in person. Good person to deal with. I might consider getthing those so I can put a normal pistol grip on.

Would anyone happen to know what color/type of wood my AK is? Or what kind of finish? I really like it. It is dark brown, but in bright light it looks a bit red. |

Loved my first AK so much, decided to add a kick-around, Franken Gun to the mix: Romanian WASR base, Polish Tantal Folding Stock, Kreb's Flash Hider, XS Big Dot Sights Set, Retainer Plate and DIY Web Sling.
Haven't even gotten to shoot it yet, just put it all together tonight... |

It was my first refinishing job.. I used polyurethane because its not really collectible, but it is a shooter. I should have taken a picture of it before i refinished it, it looked like hell  .
Oh and I know that the stock on the AK doesnt have a butt plate (or sling swivel for that matter).. If anybody can point me in the direction of one, that would be sweet. |

To the people that cleaned up the reciever, dust cover, and barrel. What is the easiest way to do this? I'm in the process of refinishing the wood and have noticed that the dull finish of the metal looks a little worse.
