I have 2 I like.
Keltec P17. Sometimes it blows back a little bit. Sig Sauer/ GSG 1911-22. Works great and looks cool. It is fairly cheaply made. Very accurate and I enjoy shooting it a lot. Full size 1911 frame.. |

After a time...I got tired of fighting the rear sight moving. No ability to put a Red Dot on it either. Main reason I switched to 322. |

My MkIV 22/45 has been a fantastic pistol. Eats absolutely everything. Old ammo sitting around for years, CCI, random bulk packs, etc. I went with the "tactical" model because it comes with the hbar.
It's everyone's favorite thing to shoot at family get together. The only downside is the 10 rd mag, but it doesn't bother me. |

Another vote for Mark IV. Pick a model you like. Mine hosts a SWR Spectre II (got it before SilencerCo bought SWR) or a Silencerco Sparrow.

I have a couple of sparrows and a M&P 22 and a Ruger Mk IV 22/45. I like them both. The Ruger is heavier and balances well with the sparrow. It also has the better trigger with the VQ trigger. There is a 17 magazine kit for the S&W. Don't have one yet but it's on my list to get.

The issued pistols from the camp were Crosman Skanakers for airgun, and Smith and Wesson 422's for rimfire. I used the Crosman for air gun, but had Dad's PreA series 41 he got in the late 60's. My coach had a 41 bull barrel with the extendable front sight. But yeah, the 422 was a dog compared to the 41. Now I wish I had a 422 for a can host though. |

I don't think CCI Quite will cycle in any semi autos, it definitely doesn't run reliably in either my Mk3 or Mk4. I save the Quites for bolt actions. Standard Velocity is my go to for all semi autos. CCI Suppressor 22LR runs at 970fps vs Standard Velocity at 1070fps. It will cycle realibly but I don't notice enough difference in noise suppression to bother with it (harder to find and rarely on sale like SV). |
